I may rethink my Drow then tbh, too many dark elves can spoil the brew, and you were here first.

Human I've played too much, Dwarves have beards, Elves hug trees, Halflings are a bit wiffy and I know NOTHING about those angry Tree-bready types. Drow was the logical step.

| OK, Seeing as there has been a fair amount of interest since Dugo's original post about this, I thought I'd do a bit of a roundup, make sure we're all on the same page?
EBERRON (DDO):
Potential Players / Race / Classes:
Dugo (Most likely Cleric or Paladin) Sureshot (Drow Sorcerer) Redwatch (Monk?) Artekus (no further info yet) PrioryJK (no further info yet) Lunarwolf (Most likely Rogue, but possibly Ranger)
Server Choice:
Ghallanda
Starting Up
I'm hoping we're waiting for Red & PrioryJK to be available for this before we start (I know I am), but seeing as the "tutorial dungeon" is Single Player only, I presume we are all going to get through that in our own time and then sit in the starting village of Korthos to await everyone else? There are actually only 4 quests in that starter village but they can all be done with a group..
Guides
For those unable to get the game right now, you might find these sets of guides to be of some use.

| Yes I'm still with the cleric, but considering creating a paladin. When it comes to dungeons you can do them at 4 different difficulty levels : solo, normal, hard, elite, and you can re-do them as many times as you please | |

| Yeah, I noticed that too - gotta say I love the "solo" option I'm interested in doing them with a group though, especially the starter ones on much higher difficulty to see if there is any difference in loot rewards! I'll change your class choice to Cleric / Paladin then Dugo, then you can let me know nearer our start time which you'd prefer (thats the great thing about the tutorial dungeon, you can try out each of the classes without having to make a commitment because it only takes 20odd mins, but gives you a chance to try out the different abilities, spells and powers of each class!) | |

| I don't know if this will bother anyone else (it doesn't me) but I was reading a review of DDO and it seems there is no PvP.
I personally can live without PvP (I find it a mixture of very dull or just frustrating, even when I'm on a winning streak) and won't be bothering with it in TOR, but I thought I had better mention it to people looking into this game.
Also, it seems there is an in-game voice-chat option. However, seeing as I am not at home until Friday, I can't check this out.

| I think there is actually a PvP, but is not used that much because of the bad implementation, something like in Lotro, where only a handful of players were actually doing PvP. And yes, there is a voice-chat so we can communicate through it | |

| As it's Turbine the UI is all pretty similar to LotRO which pleased me. The game however is really rather different. I've done the first bit and 1 dungeon so far and the game itself isn't that bad from what I can grasp. I'm not to bothered about np PvP cause it's not really that sort of a game anyway, it's much more along the lines of the P&P style. I'm actually going to invite some of the guys from GTC to join us if you guys are ok with that? It might help make up some of the remaining classes. I'll wait to see what classes you guys end up with anyway. | |

| Quick question - how many free character slots do you get? The idea of trying out a few different classes in the intro dungeon sounds good but does having to overwrite a character might make you loose the name? |

| Yeah some RP is much needed. Whilst I was on there the community seemed a bit of your average PvE/PvP/"I can has gank" types but I'm sure everything will be cool when us lot get on.
Anyone else managed to download and install the client yet btw?

| Yup a while back (oh, you prob don't mean me, do you - lol) BTW I'm almost definately gonna play a rogue, I've decided - but rather than play my drowette Nadia / Na'ia (who, to be fair was the character base for Ree so she'd seem too familiar anyway), I'm going for a human chappie rogue based loosely upon: The Dread Pirate Roberts: | |

| Hehehe love the Princess Bride. Yeah strangely Guldaer is kinda based on the Mysterious Falleen in some ways, but a lot less evil and more mystical & arrogant. Haven't really thought about how I'm gonna RP him yet but I think Saruman and "TMF" are both strong influences. | |

| I decided to pass on this one. I don't have the time or inclination to play any MMO's at the moment. |
