Mandalorian & Threat of Peace Update Discussion

So what did you think of the new timeline and Threat of Peace?

Pulled across from "Friday Update Speculation Thread" seeing as I still agree with my original comments...

"Personally I find that more helpful than a planet update.
Its honest-to-goodness LORE, something we've been without for awhile.

We all felt that The Mandalorians would exist in TOR (even if only as a 'type' of Human) but its good to see what they've actually been doing.

Up until this point there was no clear info on the Mandalorians, now we know they are back, with a new Manda'lore, and are working against the republic in a very real and cohesive way (whereas before we only had snippetts of information about a 'blockade', we didnt know if they were really just bounty hunters working together - now we know they are an army).

Which begs the question, could this be the first "group" that players can do missions for and gain rep with? (Sith only, I suspect).

Really, it was nice. It was also great to see a trandoshan face for once, so perhaps hope for Skursir. Still, I wonder if we'll see the Mandalorians as the 4th mystery Sith class, as the Sith spy/assassin is pretty much nailed down. The comic was also a funny way into the new act. I'm happy to see that we'll get an interesting arc, and I'm hoping to see some Troopers in the Demolition Team 419.

I hope I can have a Mando Bounty Hunter, anyway I really enjoyed watching that.

Hate to open up this old can of worms again but I honestly can't see the Mandalorians as a class. To me that still sounds the same as saying the Naboo are a class. The way I see it as that they're nation, a broken nation agreed but I honestly think making them a seperate class would be really strange and a little bit daft. That just my opinion though.

Yup I was really chuffed for you when I saw the Trandoshan, thats looking very likely now I have to say. It's about tiime one of the reptilian races got a bit of love!

Hehe, thanks! But still no word about the Falleen though... I doubt they'll be a playable class, but perhaps an NPC? Reason being, I think they're quite rare in the universe and besides, not many people know them...

You mean species yeah? If Falleen were a class they really would be OP! Haha!

Yeah it's very unlikely that they'll appear. I mean there was a whole planet full of the sexy buggers but they very rarely left there as they considered all other beings a bit crap!

It's a shame though cause like someone said before, TOR needs a "Dark Elf/Drow" type playable species and the Falleen fit the bill perfectly. Ah well I live in hope.

Sorry, yeah I meant species But I always thought that the "Dark Elf" was one of those blue-skinned Near-humans...

Well the new ToP webcomic set's the bar a little higher for those aiming for 'hackneyed'. Who's writing these things?

The timeline was good, as always. I'm really looking forward to Holorecord13 - The First Dar Sith Lords on Korriban! Guess it'll be long wait though! lol
