- Robot Chicken Creators' New Star Wars Series
Seth Green and Matthew Senreich team with Lucasfilm for new project. by Eric Goldman April 5, 2010 - Seth Green and Matthew Senreich's love of Star Wars is clear to anyone who watches their series Robot Chicken, which has done two half-hour specials devoted completely to Star Wars parodies. Now, Green and Senreich are going to take that love further by teaming with Lucasfilm Animation for an ongoing series set in the Star Wars universe – one that will have a decidedly comic bent.
Said Seth Green, "The Star Wars universe is so dense and rich; it's crazy to think that there aren't normal, mundane everyday problems in a world so well-defined. And it's even crazier to think of what those problems might be, since it's all set in a galaxy far, far away. What do these characters do when they're not overthrowing Empires?"
"We're going to pull back the curtain of some of those behind-the-scenes shenanigans," says Senreich. "It's going to appeal to all ages, the way Star Wars should – but there'll be plenty buried under the surface, as well. As Obi-Wan might say, 'it all depends on your point of view'."
Brendan Hay, a Simpsons writer and former Daily Show producer will be a writer on the project, which is produced by Jennifer Hill (The Backyardigans) and directed by Todd Grimes (Back at the Barnyard).
"There are so many stories taking place in the Star Wars universe, and they don't all have to focus on the fate of the galaxy," said Grimes. "We're looking at Star Wars from a new perspective; this will be a glimpse at how the rest of the galaxy is affected by the events of the Saga. There's a lot of humor to be mined from that."
No network has yet been announced for the series.
Recently, IESB reported that there was a new Star Wars animated series aimed at pre-schoolers in the works, but there has been no confirmation from Lucasfilm on that front as yet. IGN.com - StarWars.com wrote:

Share Email Archives April 5, 2010 Untitled Animated Star Wars Project Will Explore the Universe from a New Perspective, Blending Wry Comedy and Irreverent Fun Lucasfilm Animation is currently developing an all-new animated Star Wars series, focusing its efforts on the comedic aspects of the "galaxy far, far away." Featuring creative involvement from Seth Green and Matthew Senreich, creators and executive producers of the Emmy and Annie Award-winning Robot Chicken, as well as writing from The Daily Show's Brendan Hay, the series will look at the Saga's characters with a playful and irreverent tone. The series will be produced by Daytime Emmy and Gemini Award-winner Jennifer Hill (The Backyardigans), and directed by Emmy-nominated Todd Grimes (Back at the Barnyard).

| Let's not forget all of those Christmas specials as well (Ewoks and all), but in my opinion, this looks good. Granted, if they go too comic it will probably ruin the "Wars" part of Star Wars. The worst that could happen is that this becomes a Sit-Com... That would be bad... | |

| Careful or I'll accidently drop the link to where my copy of the "Star Wars Holiday Special" is kept - then you'll all regret it. Nobody needs to see Chewbacca sing. Nobody. Then again, if you think your faith in SW simply cannot be shaken then click if you dare for a snippet.... - Spoiler:

Sansweet reveals details on the highly-anticipated Blu-rays. by Chris Carle April 17, 2010 - Today in the IGN Theater at the Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo (C2E2), Lucasfilm Director of Fan Relations Steve Sansweet revealed anticipated information about the Star Wars films coming to Blu-ray.
"We have been at work for a couple of years working on—I won't call it the Ultimate Set because we keep finding stuff—but, a very full set of all six movies on Blu-ray with lots of extra material. We're finding all kinds of scenes from dailies that have never been seen before. Beyond all of those things that you know about… there are some real treasures."
When will the set come out? Sansweet says, "We're not ready to announce exactly when it's coming out, but it won't be in the too distant future."
Stay tuned to IGN Blu-ray for more news on the six films making their way to the format. IGN Something to buy. I will pre order as soon at i can

| I'd be all over buying those on Blu-ray. I have the 3 original films on two sets of DVD and two sets on VHS, also have the three new one's on DVD. I've been waiting a long time for them all to come out on Blu-ray.
Hope they don't do what has been done with the LOTR blu-rays though. I'm not getting the one's that are out at the moment. I'm waiting for the extended versions to come out, but no date has been set yet. I don't want to have to buy original versions of the three first SW movies and then buy another set of enhanced versions some time after.

- C2E2 10: Will Star Wars Series Cover Life After Jedi?
Timeline and character information revealed at C2E2. by Chris Carle April 18, 2010 - Not many details have surfaced about the new Seth Green Star Wars comedy series that was recently announced. However, in the IGN Theater at Chicago's C2E2 convention, Lucasfilm Director of Fan Relations Steve Sansweet gave fans a nugget of information about what characters might be involved in the show.
During the Q&A section of the panel, a fan said, "I would really love to see new adventures after Jedi with our favorite characters Luke, Han and Leia," to which Sansweet replied, "And you will, in the new animation."
This should stoke the fires of fan speculation. Although the Seth Green/Matthew Seinrich (Robot Chicken) series is decidedly a comedic take on the Star Wars Universe, Sansweet's comments are the first confirmation that it would tackle events post "Yub Nub."
Stay tuned to IGN TV for more news as it becomes available on this series and Star Wars: Clone Wars. IGN not much news, but the are better then nothing

| For once I'm not gonna buy anything just because it's Star Wars... at least not the blue rays. First reason of all, I already have those on Dvds. Second reson, I don't have any blue-ray reading device... and I don't see the point of getting one. | |

| Can't say I'm looking forward to watching a parody of SW to be honest. Hope I'm wrong, but I have a bad feeling about this. | |

| VHS is not the same you have to have it because... that's how you used to watch it when you was a kid, right? I've stolen my parents one bacause they are the VHS from my kid years as a star wars fan. Yet I just wouldn't care about any other VHS | |

| I myself am a big fan of BluRay - it's pretty much the only thing my PS3 get's switched on for these days! I actually prefer watching movies at home now rather than going to the cinema since getting my set-up perfected... 42" HD TV + 5.1 surround sound system + BlueRay + comfy sofa & puffe = movie heaven I remember way back when, when I got my first surround sound unit to dip my toe in the waters (actually a Creative PC gaming one with little satellite speakers). It was when Episodes I, II & III came out on DVD and watching the pod race scene in Episode I in surround sound blew me away . I kept watching that terrible episode over and over. lol |
