Got Star Wars Galaxies?

I know this game is a bit on the controversial side but I realised when I went to download the trial for a possible EPOCH birthday bash that I still have an active account.

Seeing BP mention it in the "Space Combat" thread got me thinking - does anyone else have it / have interest in playing?

I quite liked it when I played it last and only stopped because nobody else I knew had it.

I thought it would be kinda cool if we could use it like a "surrogate TOR" until BW release the game? maybe make as close to our characters on here as we can and join the game for some socialising etc? maybe play out some RP there?

I played it for the total of 2 days and quite frankly that was too much, so I can't see me ever going back, I have been tempted to try out the SWGEmu project but I've heard that you need a copy of the original pre-CU game if you want to run it.

Thats a shame, I kinda like it - even with all its buggyness (women characters run like mental cases!). I dunno, I'm gonna keep at it a bit I think

no and i have no plan to download the 14 days trail version

Ill download it, hopefully University internet runs as fast as it sometimes does! hihihi
But dunno when I should strat the Trail, since it is exam time.

and, if not SWG I think it would be a good idea to find a other game that we caould play as party/guild/clan/group.
That way we as well practice playing togather as a team, even if a non SW game.

I tried it on my old pc and well it just stuttered so much due to my crappy pc i hated it, I could give it another chance when we do that guild get together but I really dont want to invest myself in a MMO unless its good

Couldn't agree more. As much as I love the idea of getting back into an MMO nothing is really catching my eye at the minute. The next game I'll be getting my hands on is Aliens vs. Predator which is released next month. I know thats got a multiplayer option.

I don't think you need a copy of the pre-CU SWG to run the EMU just not the trial version.

I think our "social intereaction" might be somewhat limited in AvP though

O.O you mean they didn't in your games? Predator pwn'd pretty much everyone last time I played it!

I personally prefer the Marine though, love the atmospheric "beep" of the motion tracker

RE: Stat Wars Galaxies I went to Gideon's home-town on Corellia last night, t'was kinda cool as it was snowing at the time, but unlike me Gideon didn't go sliding on his @%&# off into the sunset

Very true the Predator was proper OP in teh first 2 games, however I was playing up against some proper badass experienced Alien player and I got my @%&# handed to me a lot even as the Predator.

Oh and I agree about the Marine. It was great fun sitting there in the dark with a spare change of pants just in case.

Anyway, I'll leave this for the AvP discussion as I'm going waaaaaaay off topic.

Well I vote for SWG :p I started playing it, I agree with SS in the begining, I think I would have quited the first day, but then tought: If I find a nice RP guild the game should get great
would be even better if the whole EPOCH guild came but seems that will not happen.

EDIT: btw does any 1 know how to CHAT?! Usualy it is enter to send the chat msg. but here it (well seems to be) is enter, but does not work.

Sorry I didn't answer the first time you asked BP! Yeah I do still have SWG, and its the full sub not the trial.

I don't really play it though because its on my laptop and I really only use that when I'm at work so I only get 10mins here, 20mins there. I ususally spend that playing WoW.

Loved SWG, Played it for 5 years and I'm currently playing it again =)

r u in any guild? btw, I switched to BH, spy is a bit buged in PVE
