Star Wars Movie Battles 2. Tricks and Hnts. Empty
PostSubject: Star Wars Movie Battles 2. Tricks and Hnts.   Star Wars Movie Battles 2. Tricks and Hnts. EmptyThu Jan 07, 2010 2:41 am

Since you gusy just started and dont even know the basics I tought that it would be good that I write em down for ya.
So here r the errors you made yesturday:

-Runing when close to a "Push whore" of a jedi/sith like me Darth Revan
if you think that a jedi has skilled push/pull NEVER run when close to him,
rather dont panic, strafe left right and shoot at him so you can take down the force points and kill him.

-when snipeing in the Duel of the Fates map, and in the main corridor hide behind the small pillars (or whatever they r) the give great cover from enemy fire

-When faceing a Hero class sniper make shour you aim for he's torso, they usualy got dodge so you will miss a bit more often. (as PJK might have noticed yesturday ^^ hehehe)

-this is not C. Strike the bullets dont fliy light speed, so aim in front of enemy

-Dorideka is usless when playing vs a jedi/sith (if the player is of avergae skill). But 2x Deka can be of help ^^

-Grenades&Rockets: NEVER throw grenades over big distances (if a jedi is your enemy), you have seen yesturday why^^
if you throw em @ jedis throw it the indirect way, aganst a wall (makes pushing useless if done right).

Jedis/Sith:

jump 3
push 3
saber offance 2
Saber defance 3
Force resistance 2
bolt deflect 3
Seening 2

vs. gunner:
-That is a good build for beginers, just get close to a enemy and w8 till he panics and runs, then PUSH! and he is lieing on the floor, otherwise,
stand close to him hold block and let him frie at you, s that way he shoots himself,
-if you jump, just tap the jump key, that way you can dodge a few bulltes but dont use force points,

vs. saber:
- *coming soon* Very Happy

Some good hints, but I'd like to address some of the points....

First of all, if you've played Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy on Single Player, unlearn everything you've learned because gameplay in MBII is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

If you're playing a shooter character vs force user it really doesnt matter how close/far you are; if youre 1v1 then you've had it. The only advantage you have at range is it takes longer for them to reach you and kill you. After all, force users can just run straight toward you deflecting blaster bolts. Sure, that does wear down their force ability, but not quick enough to make any difference. Your best bet as Shooter vs Force User is as an assist, preferably with another Force User on your side. If you can get BEHIND the enemy Force user and shoot him/her while they are engaged in combat, you've got a chance.

100% agree with this; its the only thing that saved me a couple of times.

Also Commander class also has dodge, not sure about any others - but it really is useful against shooters. I've also noticed (don't know if its a bug or deliberate) that on several occassions when I've been a force user and lept in right behind someone with 'dodge' that some of my light-saber swings have missed at point-blank range...

EDIT: Classes that get dodge = Elite Trooper, Hero, Commander

Also never, ever, EVER play Droidika in maps that have small corridors/lots of doors. The "rolling droids" suffer massive clipping issues at times; I've gotten "stuck" in a doorway with the game-equivilent of a 5ft gap on either side of the droid, for no apparent reason. Other players can literally walk up behind you and 'kick you to death' while all you can do is just sit there and watch.

Another odd aspect of the game which takes players by surprise because, lets be honest, in any other game you would do the complete opposite. Who in their right mind would run in with a grenade and throw it an enemy who was 2ft in front of them when you could be 25ft back and throw it so you are safely out of the blast radius? But, as BP pointed out if you do use a grenade "properly" it really wont work in MB2.

Jedis/Sith:

It probably only takes a couple of seconds of gameplay to notice, but the game is quite biased toward force users. They are a LOT more powerful than shooters and much easier to play. (After all, no other class can just "stand there and not get hurt" by blaster fire Razz). If the enemy is a Force User your best bet is to be one as well or, if there are more players on your team than the enemies' you could try teaming up as shooters to take them down but, if one of you dies the others will follow in mere seconds.

Overall its a good game but it could do with a rules revision and shakedown to remove some of the unbalanced gamepeplay. In the meantime its worth taking note of BP's hints and tips ^^

It does make a differance, you saw that tKER dude, he killed me every time, and I was playing as a Sith.

Yes, but I think it does not happen that often.

I think that happens only in the DOTF map.

Not quite right, There r many ways to kill a jedi here, a good one is to take a BH (Bounty Hunter) and posion darts, 3 of em kill a jedi, dhey alsow disable FP (Force Points) regeneration witch makes em easyer to kill.
if a jedi has Force detance AND Deflect under 3, a full charged disruptor rifle kills with 1 hit.

Also Mando (Mandalorian), they got flamthrowers, and rockets(if you use em right).

Republic class vs Force user:
Clone trooper:
They r jedi killers, a clone rifle lvl 3 fires so fast, that it burns down the FP of a sith in notime, alsow they have "Charged Blasts" (alt fire of rifle) (aka. Blob) witch knocks a enemy off he's feat.
Hit a Sith with a blob and a few hits with the main attack, and a sith is dead.

HERO;
1. They can dodge saber attack(with dodge lvl3),
2. Use quick throw, to throw grenades while blaster is equiped, it knowcks the sith off the Feat, then it only takes 2-3 blaster hits and you win.

ARC Trooper:
It is a bit tricky playing vs a Sith with this class, but it has 2 advantages:
1. He can use stamina to make crazy jumps, and siderolls, witch is good for geting a bit distance if the SIth comes to close.
2. The pistols, when charged they bounce off the walls. So if ya aim right you can fire nex to the sith, the bolts hit a wall and fly in the siths back.
