Kudos to Harewood for find out about the new Imperial Agent class! I have to say it's truly made my day and I now have a class for Mr. Dekkar!
For those that haven't got a clue what I'm rambling on about click here.
So although we don't have much to go on I was wondering what everyones thoughts were on this new class?
Personally I'm ecstatic about it for several reasons. Firstly because it fits our guild perfectly, secondly I can't wait to play one, and thirdly by the looks of things they seem to be heading down the root of a high-tech assassin with a knack for infiltration. I truly think this class is gonna be really fun to play.

tbh I'm withholding my opinion, although i'm glad they've been confirmed I still need to know how they'll play and how "sithy" they'll be, i'd have prefered something more neutral, although looks like Ril will have to be one when i play it

At last confirmation on this class, now I can finally begin to make up my character details As Sureshot mentioned, assassins look is very nice and I hoped for a shady character like this, from the look of it, specializing in taking care of things quietly and unnoticed .

I do like the look of the class, but I now sense a huge wave of Imperial Agents about to be made
(not just yourself Dugo, I know other people were interested too!)
I think any pouting from BioWare saying they're "not mirroring classes" has to be finally put to bed now, regardless of what they say!
For Sith we have
Ranged DPS = Bounty Hunter Melee DPS = Sith Warrior Rogue = Imperial Agent Other class = ??
For Republic we have
Ranged DPS = Trooper Melee DPS = Jedi Knight Rogue = Smuggler Other class = ??
Oh no, BW... of course they're not mirrored.
Here, borrow this /facepalm.

unless they can all support/dont need support, but that would make it less of an MMO if people could just solo it.
Rumours are still abound as to whether all classes can heal themselves though, so its all to play for!

I think the Jedi/Sith might double up as maybe healer/crowd control?

Yeah I was kinda hoping for a less "Imperial" feel to the class, but I have absolutely no doubt that it'll be great fun. They really look the business if you ask me.
The only thing that kinda shocked me was the iconic characters they were based on. Zam Wessel as we all know is a Bounty Hunter as mentioned in Episode 2 and Grand Moff Tarkin really isn't like this class at all! Not that I'm complaining though, I loved Zam Wessel and playing an assassin must be a riot.

Yeah I wonder how many of us have changed thier minds already. Come on hands up, who wants to play an Agent as thier main?
By the way I've now added Imperial Agent to the Character Information section in your profiles if you wanted to add it. Just click 'profile' and 'character information' and you'll see it.

Try as I might I just can't really get excited about this class. I'm very pleased to see the variety but my indifference probably stems from the fact that I won't be playing a SW fantasy roll. Yes, I get the cool factor with Zam but even though she's figured quite a lot in the expanded stuff I really don't feel any connection to the character like I do with Han/Luke/Bobba/Vader.
I expect I'll get more interested when they start giving us proper info on class mechanics. This class has the potential for a lot of scope (so long as they don’t just give out a slicing kit and a sniper rifle and think "job done" )
Not the class representation I was expecting but still a good addition to the game.

Well I had been eagerly awaiting this announcment, to confirm that this class would be my main . And by the result, it is firmly confirmed now. ( I believe last one will be kinda supportive char and I really don't like that role )

I think that if I do get around to playing the supportive role then I'll be saving that for when I play on the side of the Republic.

This is quite an interesting thread actually: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=87322
It seems that the Agent is either pretty damn popular or it's just current hype.

For those of you interested in playing an IA, I just came across this video interview with Daniel Erickson:
Not sure if you've seen it before but it gives a little bit of info on the basic idea behind the Imperial Agent.
