| Hey guys just got back fromt eh shops and the August edition of PC Gamer has a SWTOR Preview, only read bits and pieces so far but this bit was interesting.
PCgamer; At the end of the presentation, the point is made that what Bioware have shown is nothing like the MMOs we know today. Where are the PvP arenas? Or the Large, 25+player raids Or auction houses? Or, hey, Space-combat.
Vogel raises an eyebrow. "oh we have all that too. We're just going to wait a little bit to show you that."

| Yeah I've seen that comment written somewhere before, still nice to see it again tho!
I was also gonna say "hasn't someone already posted this?" but I think I'm getting confused with The Edge review that Red posted up a while back.

| Well finished the article, not much is given away, a few things did jump out at me;
One was Rich Vogel saying "The game is playable. We have a server up and running, we can play the game at home."
Also Rich Vogel saying; "The Sith is a action-point class. Do you play many MMo games?" "A few." "So he plays a bit like the Rogu... oh you got it."
lastly saying if you played each class in turn, you wouldn't repeat a single mission, or see a repeated location.

Well thats ignoring any quests you help other classes on but how won't you see repeated locations if you have 2 classes starting on the same world? I also hope it doesn't mean its going to be restrictive where you can travel as specifc classes.

If each class story is the same size as 1 KotOR game then of course we're gonna see the same quest again eventually.

Red post a Edge magazine review last week, this was just an interview with Bioware. The PC Gamer artical they played the Demo at E3. But as for the quests I think if you help others with quests then you will end up doing the same quests. but it won't be like LOTRO or anyother MMO where no matter what class you pick you always end up doing the same quests.

| Haha! Wow. I'm almost part of a topic of conversation there – I'd better cool off pointing to previously discussed posts. I'm not sure I want the job of archivist! lol But yes, I mentioned this PC Gamer preview a while back and Sureshot has pointed to the article reproduced on gamesradar.com (which is a Future Publishing [who make PC Gamer {and almost every other games mag}] website). >_< As discussed here: - Redwatch wrote:
- That's a direct quote from the PC Gamer article I mentioned on the Recruitment thread.
- Redwatch wrote:
- I was just saying to LW last night that this month's issue of PC Gamer gave TOR a very positive write up (nothing new news wise but worth a look)
And worth a look it is, though we heard about these things SS has quoted a liitle while back from a Bioware dood. But it's still good to hear Mr Vogel himself confirm them, I agree. Subject: Re: GameRadar Interview Discussion Wed Jul 08, 2009 2:12 am...I can't help it!! I told myself I wouldn't quote it but it seems I can't help myself! Even when I'm quoting myself (with spelling mistakes on a point I was proven plain wrong about. lol It's a sickness. I'm aware of that. |

| Hahaha! I must've looked a bit of an idiot in Tesco's today for laughing at a magazine, but when I saw a sticker on the front of PC Gamer saying "Free World of Warcraft 14-Day Trial Exclusive to Tesco's" and then right next to it in massive letters "THE WARCRAFT KILLER - STAR WARS: THE OLD REPUBLIC" I really had to LOL! Talk about defeating the object of promotion! Brilliant! | |
