I think promoting/advertising the guild while not necessarily recruiting is a good idea.

Yup the promotion will still be going ahead as we're still on the lookout for more allies.

I know its not my place to say but i reckon it would be better not to, since like you said, as I am not sure all would have the dedication to get onto a EU server that Black Heart has shown and the time zone differences ect.

Oh and also it seems there have been quite a few apps coming in this week, 3 may not seem like alot but the most ive seen.

I'm personally dubious about letting US players into the guild. I think Black Heart has shown amazing dedication though so who knows, we may find another like him? On the whole I do frown about it though. Maybe we should just clone BH?

As for the applications Zoran, we don't want masses of them coming in. We are planning on being a very small tight knit guild so personally I'm happy with the amount we're getting. If we got too many then that would mean a hell of a lot of rejections I'm sure. I find the method where we hand pick potential members a much more effecient recruitment strategy.

I would agree with Sureshot (but not about cloning BH – he's unique and we love him for it). We want to stay on the small side and though we have close to twenty members, some will fall by the wayside before release and some will want to play one faction only so it makes sense to keep an eye out for decent potentials.
And opening the doors to players who's time zones are more than a couple of hours either side of GMT seems to me like inviting disaster for very little gain when we're doing more than well enough anyway.

We could make t-shirts and wear them into our local gaming stores. When anyone asks us what the website is, use a jedi mind trick to tell them it doesn't exist. Due to the alck of force powers this trick won't work, but the 'victim' will immediately return home and look us up.

We could also add in some "force grip" for good measure when the police are called.

Right guys I'm getting SO fed up about moaning about this so can people PLEASE remember to bump the recruitment threads? It's really not that hard!!

All you have to do is look on the left hand side of this forum and there is an external widgets box that Red has kindly put together. In that box there is a direct link to both the Sith and the Republic recruitment threads. Everytime you come on here I would appreciate if you at least leave 1 reply on each thread. Don't mention that it's a bump, but just try and start an ongoing conversation that doesn't involve matters talked about in the guild chat forums.

We're so close to achieving the full members now. Also, I hope Initiate's are aware that by not bumping the recruitment thread that it can effect your entry to full membership into the guild.

Just to let everyone know, both Empire and Republic Recruitment threads have been updated with the new Guild name.

Here's the actual post:

Back in February of this year, one [Species Classified] who went by the name of Sureshot had a vision:

He wanted to pull together all those individuals who knew the worth of Credits, the power of favours and the strength behind being in the know. Seeing the possibilities that SW:TOR had to offer, he pulled a group of like minded-players together and formed the European Role-Playing Guild, Blasters For Hire.

While this was always as a temporary name, the Guild itself was intended to remain neutral in their allegiance, following no one side of the Jedi/Sith or Republic/Empire conflict, preferring instead to sell to and work for both.

Alas it was soon revealed that remaining neutral in so far as the game was concerned would not be a possibility, and the Guild underwent some serious changes and modifications until it was agreed that neutrality could be maintained through two Guilds branching off a single idea. Blasters For Hire would have two 'departments', one “Empire” and the other “Republic” but they would report to the same superior, each picking and choosing missions inappropriate for the other.

Most recently however the Guild has undergone another major change, this time in the way it presents itself to the SW:TOR community and its image in-game, not to mention the Role-play aspect of the Guild.

In the earlier part of this month, the true name of the Guild was revealed, replacing the temporary name of Blasters For Hire. Though most of our allies have been informed of the change, I would like to take the opportunity to share this name change with the SW:TOR community at large, to inform old friends and potential new recruits looking to join our ranks.

The Guild is now known as:



In this instance, E.P.O.C.H is an abbreviation of:




In due course the web-site, its URL and even these recruitment threads will alter to represent this true name of the Guild and our website is currently undergoing a major visual overhaul to add to the transition.

Additionally, although Sureshot is still the overall Guild Leader, he will be focusing most of his in-game efforts in running the Empire/Sith arm of E.P.O.C.H whereas I have been entrusted with the development of the Republic arm of E.P.O.C.H.

Though we will all miss “Blasters For Hire” as it has been our name for half of the entire year, we are nevertheless stepping forward as The Agents of The E.P.O.C.H!

On a more down note, I've noticed that we only seem to have 3 stars on the Republic recruitment thread. Now my first thought is "some total idiot has tried to cripple our recruitment chances" and my secondary thought is "someone has seen too many blatant bumps and had enough". Either way this doesn't matter as we'll be starting 2 new ones soon anyway.

BUT......

I am pleading with guilds members to do the following things:

1. NEVER mention the word "bump" in a recruitemnt thread unles its someone elses. If people don't read this and take note then seriously I will be giving out warnings.

2. Everytime you post a new bump comment (without the bump part!) remember to rate the thread with 5 stars EACH and EVERY time.

3, Update as regularly as you can. We really need to keep an eye out on who's posting what now. If you don't update regularly then I shall be sending you messages personally asking you to do so.

I dunno about anyone else but this has irritated me a bit. I mean I know its only stars n'all but I don't think it reflects well on us at all. I'm not sure but I have a feeling it was that guy from Champions of the Force, but I wanna be certain before I start pointing fingers.

Both the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire Recruitment threads could do with some posts guys; just dont mention the word "bump" or The Man With The Plan may just kill you...

Aye yeah I've been thinking about that. I really think it's time to close those threads so would people mind keeping an eye out on the "Looking For A Guild" thread for new recruits instead? In fact I may assign someone to that job thats not already active with other things in the guild.

I usually keep and eye on the LfaG thread at SWTOR, posting an invite to folks who meet our criteria (GMT±2 or 3hrs, 20yrs+, RP oriented and such) and mentioning here who I've PM'd, but I'm a bit snowed under with visuals atm.

Since you've mentioned assigning this to someone as a job Boss, I remembered that "Recruitment Officer" is one of the extra roles defined in the An Officer's Responsibility thread.
On that note for whoever ends up getting the job, if you'd like a copy of the standard invite I've been throwing at people (– if Sureshot doesn't issue an official one), let me know and I'll be happy to pass it along!

So will there not be a new recruitment thread for the time being then? I'll do my best to keep an eye out for new recruits, if that alright with me only being an Initiate?
