For anyone who's never played it but is looking at AoC, here's a character creation video...

What sort of pvp is there in the game now? you're twisting my arm into playing this now lol
not sure if i deleted my account though might have to start from scratch, would most likely be a guardian or Dark templar.
i just cant seem to find a game that can keep me interested to level to hang around at max level
(However this wont be the case with TOR ^^)

I don't have any plans on returning to AOC with Farah my character. I can't remember what class he was now either. To be honest I can't afford a sub at the moment. So I couldn't play any subscription MMO until TOR comes out.
Great visuals though. Those are my chars above Farah and Calel.

Dunno about the PVP Suiadan, I avoid it like the plague in most games. It doesn't seem to matter whether I rock at it or suck at it (which varies from game to game) I never seem to enjoy it.
I've heard the PvP in AoC is meant to be good, if that helps?
@ Soude: Yay! Well done sir! I'm gonna be downloading my Steam copy overnight while I'm at work because its AoC:HA+patches & Godslayer+patches so it comes in at 32gig o.O
Still not sure what to play though, I've only ever played an Assassin and that was to level 20.

That was one of the reasons I left a certain server. I got fed up with that sort of situation. Not fun at all.

So long as I get to RP a bit and PVE a lot, I'm happy
Slowly leaning towards Bear Shaman or Herald of Xotli. C'mon STEAM! only 9hrs left to download!
Oh, no wait I'll be at work still when its done

yeah its never fun to be the vic, but we always had a toll xD X amont of money got you a free pass for the day. Normally one pass ended up lasting for a long time. Harder to kill someone when you know a little about them. I dunno i always liked that aspect of mmos though. Always been on pvp servers i love ganking and getting ganked plus always made me a better player to have to fight other people just to get a few quests in xP

Wouldn;t say im a hardcore pvp'er that ganks etc, i just like objective based pvp where it makes a difference on the server, For example in swg i was always defending the bases or patrolling the cities, the forts in warhammer online.
I just really enjoy taking and defending a strategic point

+1 more reason why I hate Windoze Vistard....
Even though I've got my power settings set to "never switch off" and "never hibernate" I went to work last night with AoC downloading on Steam.
When I left it had done 1.2gig / 32gig.
I come back this morning to find that the PC HAS GONE ONTO STANDBY MODE (hell its only like I told it specifically not to do that.... ) and because of that Steam suspended the download. For the entire 11 hours its managed to move from 1.2gig to 6.6gig.
I'm so getting Windoze 7 at this rate...

Managed to play about ten minutes before I had to run at work. First of all: tutorial is not a tutorial but a browse by yourself the help. Second: It looks very very beautiful. Third: I'm kinda lost in how it works. Fourth: I got a Khitani assassin on the RP-PvE server (Hyrkania) named Etyera

I've already got the AoC: Hyborian Adventures but does anyone know if I have to buy the whole game again or is it cheaper just to get the expansion?
Oh and btw I used to play a Demonologist but this time around I'm thinking Assassin depending on what everyone else goes with.
I'm assuming you guys are looking at joining the Hyrkania server?
EDIT: Just read Soudes post! I'll let you know when I've got the expansion and made a decision.

I'm picking up my original copy of AoC tonight so I'll reinstall it later. I'm not going to have anytime this week to play though unfortunately.
Oh and I'm thinking of going with a Necromancer this time around. Looks like we may need some Mage types.

Oddly enough Tando and I thought Soude might just go for the "spy" class, lol.
BTW sure as far as I can see you don't need to actually own Godslayer, as I believe it mainly opens new areas and options and whatnot. Someone with H.A. can play alongside someone with G.S.
I could be wrong with that but thats the impression I get from the forums.
I'm personally trying to decide between playing a big, fat jolly and loud Bear Shaman (a bit of a Brian Blessed) type or an evil Herald of Xloti female.
Either way I'm looking at going into Architect crafting.

I started watching videos on you tube and when I saw an assassin, wrapped in the darkness, stalking a NPC until he made a last stop in a dark alley, where he'd get ambushed and eventually killed...
I knew I had to download the game and do my own part of stalking and ambushing ^^,
