Operation Silent Running

Rin nods to Kleti, "I suppose I should rest I won’t be useful if I pass out from my injuries.” She lowers herself gingerly to the floor leaning back against the wall. She looks to Kleti again with the expression of a frightened child; it seems like she wants to say something but then looks away quickly. She lowers her head and breathes softly placing her hand on a blaster.

The Twi'lek merely nodded at Leta's comment, she was as unsure how exactly to progress as her companion but, as Leta pointed out - she had a bigger gun: probably best she was out in front.

"I have no idea where to head next, Mz Orbus." She replied with fake formality. "This device is just a bio-matter scanner, it can't help us navigate this place. I say we find a working terminal and get a basic schematic layout of the station....assuming they've not all been fried."

She suddenly looked up to the ceiling as if she'd seen something that wasn't there.

"Of course, we could just go hunting. That thing was using the air ducts. I'm quite petite - I could probably fit in them..."

Kleti takes off her coat and offers it to Rin.
"Try to sleep a little, use this as a pillow, i will guard you"

Then she takes from bag droid head and places it to computer.
"Brainz conect and take a look at this, maybe some security cams are working?"

Kleti blinks several times and turns on thermovision.
Looks up scanning ceilling.

The vents offer no evidence of an enemy presence. The droid quickly breaks through the facilities limited security. There are few cameras much too few for a black research facility. Some of the cameras offer views of other areas in similar states as the security office while others are completely covered in a substance that seems to be blocking their view. On one of the cameras a man is seen only for a moment he seems to be watching the camera glaring at it. He waves to the camera before retreating out of its view. Kleti notices that though the temperatures within the vent are normal Rin's is not. Her core temperature is almost dangerously low but when Kleti continues to look it raises quickly to a feverish level. Rin shakes sweat appears on her brow and she shakes while sleeping.

"Brainz, donwload station map, in which block that man we saw is?"
Kleti takes her handkerchief and spils some water from flask.
Then places it on Rin's forehead. " fever... not good..."
She turns on comlink
" Girls, we checked security cameras and saw one man, be carefull..."

Brainz responds quickly "Block B mistress"

In the darkness of the facilitcy hallways the walls and vents begin to groan slowly moving towards Leta and Ree'tak. The sounds approach faster and faster bolts are torn from the wall shooting around the two like bullets. The sounds of the bolts echoes bouncing off the walls of the narrow hallway. A deafening cacophony booms around them until it stops on their position. The metal walls groan screaming under a mystery pressure and countless hard sharp objects screech as if nails on a chalkboard. Then as suddenly as it started the noise is gone the walls no longer buckle under the pressure; all is silent. Slowly from the darkness a man slouches out of the darkness. His eyes are missing from the sockets and his lips have been removed in a familiar fashion exposing his teeth. "Fleshy things. Your gift, deliver it to me now. You no longer need to scurry; you will soon be one with that which is true."

Crouching into a defensive posture and drawing her sidearm, Ree'tak watched the buckling walls as something obviously large moved along inside it. Standing her ground but cautious nonetheless, she checked her personal shield to ensure it was still activated.

"On second thought perhaps I'll pass on moving through those vents..." She said with a rather unconvincing grin.

If the banging served to make her anxious and battle-ready, it was nothing compared to how on edge she felt when it suddenly stopped: the anticipation of what she couldn't see always worried her far more than anything she could see.

It was at that moment that 'it' walked from the shadows; a macabre mockery of what once was a man, with empty pits for eyes and a gruesome, tattered mouth which uttered its obscenities.

"Oh come on!" The Twi'lek said through gritted teeth "Am I wearing 'eau de monstre' or something? Did I put on my 'get your free brains here' top again?"

When Leta threw her a confused look, Ree'tak simply sighed:

"Long story.....freaky things and me....you know what? doesn't matter. Lets shoot this, er...'whatever it is' off at the legs so it can't run then get some questions answered."

The thing continues to move closer to Ree'tak only twenty feet separate the party and the remains of one of the staff. The man looks like he was once an engineer; oil covers the tatters of his uniform. Most of his injuries seem to be severe electrical burns as if he were attacked by a welder. He carries a piece of scrap metal that appears to be very sharp the blade of which twists around like a cork screw. His brow furrows at the two as if he is glaring and his tongue darts quickly back and forth across broken dirty teeth.
“Fleshy things resistance is futile your flesh will feed something greater than you can become.”
The creature lifts a hand creating a flash that blinds the party. Electrical devices fail even Leta’s arm falls lifeless; the creature rushes forward in a blur of speed stabbing its weapon through her eye. The creature begins to feast on her tearing large chunks of muscle away from her corpse. Ree’tak takes a step back from the grizzly scene only to find a blob of the viscous substance they found in Rin’s wound. The substance wraps around Ree’tak pushing her to its center. The creature contorts causing a massive amount of movement within itself; it hyper extends Ree’tak’s joints twisting her into unnatural positions, the creature seems to delight in her agony. She writhes in agony before silently screaming within the mass. The creature forces its way down her throat occupying every bit of free space until there is no room left in the small form. Angrily the creature forces the rest of its body down her throat causing her body to split. When the two open their eyes they discover that their wounds have vanished. That they are both very much alive, was it all just a terrible nightmare or a glimpse into the future? Either way the two are still confronted by the engineer in the broken walls of the dilapidated facility.
