Favourite Role In The Trinity

I've made a guild-only poll for you to vote on what your favourite role in the trinity is so we can get a rough idea of who likes doing what whilst grouping. I was going to give a 'mixture of them all' answer but I thought I'd put you all on the spot.

For those that aren't aware of the meanings:

Melee DPS (Damage per second) = High damage dealers in hand-to-hand combat.

Ranged DPS = High damage dealers from range.

Tank = Absorbs high amounts of incoming damage from enemies to shield fellow players. Normally considered the 'toughest' of the trinity and is usually a melee class.

Buffer = 'Buffs' players to give them increases in stats like dexterity, strength etc and in some cases can grant extra strength to abilities.

Debuffer = Uses skills that negatively impact an enemies performance, the oppsoite of the buffer. Can reduce stats, movement, health etc. Often has the use of stealth to remain unseen.

Healer = The main healers of a party and often sought after (lol). Provides groups with constant renewal of health.

Crowd Controller = Controls the flow of the battle with the use of stuns, mezzes and sometimes traps.

I voted Healer, though in all honesty its probably equally shared with Crowd Control.

Heals? Crowd Control? I know, I'll be a Sith Inquisitor! heh

Sneaky Ranged DPS that doesn't get the aggro and can sneak away if need be ^^'

I've only played one class in one MMO, which makes me very inexperienced really lol I loved sneaking around as a Rogue in WoW so I used to be Melle DPS although I never liked that in raids, I tried healer in that free one and it stressed me out lol I could be crowd control or ranged DPS which is great for bounty hunter I guess!

No surprises from me! Crowd Control it is! It feels mighty awesome sitting back and helping my buddies whilst watching as the battle unfolds and then making my play so everythings in order and the enemy numbers are incapacitated. I also have no quarms about attacking first so the others can jump in and cause havoc.

I had to go with Melee Dps, usually the first to make contact with the enemy up close in generally all the games i've played.

However i have really enjoyed tanking in WoW, probably my favourite role in pve but i love to pvp alot so overall melee dps is usually the mos useful path for me.

Not sure its tank or Melee DPS cant telll why its that way i plays in all game. And i hate healer roler except in D&D univers as cleric

Ranged DPS For me. It's a role I've always liked in MMO's and one I feel most comfortable with.

Ranged DPS is actually a close second for me, although I have a feeling that as a Bounty Hunter i'll be more at the front end of the action, or at least second line.

I'd go with Ranged DPS as it's the only class that I've played but I did enjoy my tank in lotro

Ranged DPS. Nothing like filling the enemy full of holes from a distance. That way, you're safe and by the time the enemy gets to you for melee, they're often dead anyway. I'm hoping to get both Skursir and Sharho geared up into this sort of spec, Skursir mixing up some melee and tank though, for sake of fluff.

I'm actually quite surprised we haven't had any Tanks yet. Thats normally one of the most popular roles.

Hrrmm... Yeah, not looking good if we've got all this DPS and no tanks...

Well if we do that gaming buddies idea LW said and have a lil chat before hand I'm sure we can come to an arrangement, I wouldn't mind tanking if we needed one

Well to be honest once we get in game and raise the cap to 30 we'll be looking for another 10 members and I'll be more specific at what roles we need when it comes to recruitment.

It may change when we got more details on the classes

I'd be willing to specialize down the tank role, It would just really depend on how they do it,
I'm just waiting for more information on the specialization until making a definate decision.
Such as more detail about the paths and armour sets available (not a fan of the huge shoulderpads currently shown)

Other than that i've always found tanking great fun and always enhances my survivability in pvp, there's nothing better than taking on a whole group of enemy players.

No way, I'm gonna go for the tank or the medic or the melee thingy... Too dangerous ^^'
