  • What type of guild is this?
    The guild is a small european time zone based roleplaying guild for the upcoming massively multiplayer online roleplaying game Star Wars: The Old Republic.

  • What is the guild's background story?
    As it stands the guild will be a small and secretive agency, comprised of an elite group of Bounty Hunters, Assassins, Mercenaries and Spies that make their living from contract killings,, fugitive retrievel, espionage and protection for anyone that require their services.

    "When the Galaxy was torn in half by the invasion of the Sith Empire, planets across the Core Worlds, mid and even outer rims were forced to pick sides in a conflict so all-encompassing that whole cultures bowed to one side or the other. To most there was no alternative, a line had been drawn carving the stars and allegiance was bought, conned or forced. A rare few decided to take another path: where others saw oppression or salvation, they saw opportunity. Where many saw destruction and war, they saw profit. As the Galactic Senate drowned in its own bureaucracy and the Jedi Order retreated to regroup and enter a state of regrowth, the insidious Sith Empire stretched across the Galaxy consolidating its forces and paving the way for a new order. Behind this upheaval a highly secretive agency moved In the shadows, unseen and unknown to all but their wealthy clients. Bound only by their own moral code, they did what many others could or would not do to ensure there was a Galaxy left to exist in after what would be become known as the Cold War.

    The unexpected encroachment of the Sith Empire had left it's oppressive mark on the Galactic Republic and the freshly signed Treaty of Coruscant did very little from keeping outbreaks of proxy wars appearing across planetary sectors. With a full-scale war on the horizon many of the Empire's governmental organisations made a cunning and calculated decision to use third parties to do their evil bidding, thus keeping the treaty intact... from a certain point of view.
    The E.P.O.C.H Agency were one such group. Unaffiliated toward either faction and under leadership from a renowned yet elusive crime lord the agency used it's mercenary influence to exploit the current state of affairs and remain a legitimate business in the eyes of the Empire. Unbeknownst to the Empire however the agency saw fit to work between both warring civilizations to further provide itself with a respectable client list and the all-important credit. "

  • What is meaning behind the name of the guild?
    The acronym of the name E.P.O.C.H stands for "Elimination & Protection Operations for Contractual Hire" . When creating a guild name we wanted something that reflected the guilds unique approach and more importantly had a sinister air about it. The term "epoch" itself means a significant event in time that defines an era. So of course this fits well with the events explained at the start of the Old Republic with the Treaty of Corucant being signed and the whole galaxy being at the brink of war. A war which we intend to exploit nonetheless!

  • What server will the guild be on?
    We are currently still awaiting to see what servers will be available in the game, but whatever the outcome we will almost definitely be on a roleplay server (PvE) if the option is available to us. Also, we will hopefully be on a european server if it's possible.

  • Who can join?
    We accept anyone over the age of 20 (maybe less depending on level of maturity) who are mature, friendly, helpful, good humoured and have a keen interest in roleplaying.

  • What kind of members are you looking for to join your ranks?
    Aside from what I've just mentioned above, we are looking for highly active members (both in the game and on these forums) that like to share their ideas and would like to help shape the 'personality' of the guild. This will be achieved mainly through the medium of roleplay. You don't have to have any experience in roleplaying whatsover to join but you must be willing to at least try your best and commit to the concept.

  • How does the guild heirarchy work?
    We're planning on running quite an extensive recruitment policy with this guild. New recruits (or Initiates) may be new recruits for some time as I want to see how they're fitting in with the guild. Members that are more active than others and put more effort into the guild, will have a better chance of gaining a higher status. Obviously as we're a smaller guild we can't all have the title of officer but all higher positions will be voted in democratically and the most active and dedicated members will no doubt reach a higher guild status.   • What classes are you accepting?
    We are accepting all classes available to the Sith faction, although there will be a limit on how many Force users can join.

  • What size will this guild be?
    The plan for this guild is to stay fairly small and contain up to 30 members although at this current time we are only recruiting the first 20. Why small you may ask? Well from my experience playing in MMO's small guilds work a lot better and I'm a strong believer in 'quality over quantity'. With a smaller team we can concentrate on each others needs more closely, and more importantly we can bond better as a unit. From running a small guild in the past I can honestly say that this system works great. If you're concerned that we may not have enough players to complete certain aspects of the game then please read below as I'm working on a system so that we never run into that problem.

  • What is the purpose of having so many allies?
    The reason I have chosen to keep this guild small aside from the reason above is that I want the guild to feel like an actual secret agency made up of mercenaries. This will mean allying ourselves with other guilds for contractual hire. This is also a great way to meet other players and it greatly improves the chances of roleplaying outside of our guild. It also solves the problem of not having enough players, for example, to complete raids. I'm hoping that eventually we will be invited regularly to allied events if and when they need us.

  • Will allies have to actually pay us with currency in-game?
    In a word, no. All in-game work we do for allied guilds will be for our enjoyment (and hopefully theirs too!). However, for roleplaying purposes we will expect to get payed, sometimes by any means neccessary!

  • What guilds will we work for or ally with?
    Everyone! Sith, Mandalorians, Hutts, Special Forces, Crimelords, you name it! If there are credits to be made then we're not known to be fussy about our clients. We do however have rules of discretion about our fellow guilds that have to be met.

  • What faction are you planning to be with?
    The guild are exclusive to the Sith Empire faction, but that by no means effects our neutral stance in the war.

  • Do you have any special conditions for our characters alignment?
    One of the best things about being in a truly neutral guild is that our members really can be any alignment that they want. If you want to be unsung hero that likes to do good by his fellow comrades, then so be it! If you like the idea of being the evil mass murdering lunatic with a chip on his shoulder, then so be it! All manner of characters & personalities are welcome in this guild, and the more varied the better.
  • What level of roleplay do you require for the guild?
    We classify ourselves as somewhere in between medium and heavy roleplay and we require all members to roleplay. This does mean we will try and have regular roleplay events whenever possible. All public speech will be in character (IC) and guild chat will be out of character (OOC). If the game allows us though, we may make an extra channel for the heavy roleplayers which will be also be IC. I'm hoping that the guild will do it's best to make an interesting and immersive experience for all members.
