I will advise people to give money to Haiti after the earthquake.


Its several ways to donate money.

I used Itunes and give money to American Red Cross. around NOK 1200 or around £130.

Its also other options to help the victims check the local organization like Red Cross, Save the Children, Doctors without Border and Catholic Relief Service.

Good to see some awareness for this subject cropping up on the forums. It's really terrible to hear what happened out there. Thankfully, Britain doesn't get earthquakes but we should help those less fortunate - maybe instead of paying for another video game, you could give the money to Haiti. Just a thought.

Sent there 100 dollars myself...It always saddens me to see suffering of that scale where some natural disaster occurs. Knowing that people who are dying are treated immediately and those heavily wounded, but not in life-danger, have to wait. In times like this, I just feel everybody should give a little something.

I'll be giving something myself due to Harls idea, events like this really leave me with mixed feelings, obviously you have the sadness for the loss of life and the relief that peple are so willing to help but to an extent there are so many more people in the world in similar situations that don't get the same recognition.
Coupled with that at what point do we "pull out" of Haiti? considering they were the poorest country in the Western hemisphere when do people make that distiction of them being ..."saved" considering the conditions they lived in were bad in the first place they probably needed help before the Earthquake.
And what happens when eventually they get over this disaster, I doubt a country so poor will be able to input a system wereby all buildings meet the strict requirements that are needed to withstand earthquakes and as ever the population will grow and living requiremnts will stay the same, so from what I can see your going to have a similar situation down the line again in a few years if not here somewhere else.

This is a worthwhile cause indeed, and its great people are helping.

I'm afraid I can't stop "playing another video game" (I'm a hardcore gamer) but I bought another game last night and donated to the charity. (it was my pay-day yesterday)

I hope everyone's help goes some small way towards helping these people rebuild their lives.
