| I was just wondering how the smugglers see themselves fitting in with the guild.
Obviously we offer clients contract killings, fugitive retrievel, protection and espionage service, but I was wondering what aspect of that can you see appealing to your character?
I think Smugglers a pretty dead-cert to be avaliable as a class in game to be honest as the devs have said that they want the games classes to reflect the important roles & characters in the Star Wars movies.
So yeah, i'm interested on how the smugglers want to be intergrated into the guild concept....

| Yeah thats one option I guess. I can see them being very handy when it comes to protection as well. A smuggler could quite easily escort a senator or criminal even to a safer sector, if the client is being hunted and wants to avoid detection. | |

| Smugglers are sneaky. Fact. But they want coin. Fact.
Put them together and you have espionage, blowing up other guild's houses and vehicles and so on. All in the name of extra coin, they don't have to be gun running or illegal good trafficing all the time... They can also be hired to steal items from other guilds/people or spy on them... Plenty of options really...

| My character will very much fall under the smuggler architype. His or her good/neutral alignment will leave room for taking the odd bounty on dangerous criminals or help out guild members with their undertakings ("I don't want to know the details..."). Leaves it pretty open to see what the game has to offer in the way of quests. |

Leaves it pretty open to see what the game has to offer in the way of quests. Thats a really good way of looking at it actually. Multi-classing your characters for RP reasons is a great way of leaving you character as an open book so to speak. Hopefully the game will give plenty of quests for smugglers to go about thier daily duties.

| For me, I'll prob be less on the combat (certainly be able to aim a blaster tho) side of things, and more on the con-man (woman?) front.
Ree will be using her piloting skills and seduction mostly; from her persepctive its a hell of a lot easier to drug someone and steal their data than it is to blast her way in and out.
She's pretty easy on the eye so would be helpful to take to meetings as well; people will assume she is just an escort / eye candy while all the time will be picking up on all the subtleties of each gathering, watching body-language; eye contact and slight movements.
Her other strength lies in her ship. She's meant to be a damn good pilot and she's got a cargo-hold big enough to hide all kinds of things.... weapons, medical equipment, money, other characters....
So think of her as a getaway driver / courtesan-assassin ^^

That sounds really cool. Can't wait to see what BioWare provide in the way of user controlled ships. Sounds expensive though!! |

| It certainly would be interesting... will they use ships just to allow travel from sytem to system with no real control? or will we get to do dog-fights in space versions of instances? I really hope they do let us have land/hover vehicles as "mounts" | |

Money is a great motivator but information is power. I recon those at the top of the guild are no strangers to politics. |
