| Does anyone else get really annoyed with all these "free-site" haters? I'm not normally that vocal on the swtor boards but I had to stick my oar in on this thread. I've been looking at the some of the paid sites and quite frankly our site looks better and has more features than a lot of them. | |

| Hmm... i have to wonder how they think a free site or a paid site affects the guild. It's just nonsense. | |

| Completely agree. I'd rather be in a guild with a good community, substance and creativity rather than be in a zerg guild with a flashy site & loads of members that don't know each other. I really think some people miss the point of what a guild is supposed to be completely.
Actually I find it rather sad.

| Yep.. why have an assortment of random people when you can have a kind community that know each other and are friendly towards people. | |

| You have to admit though, the HoD site is paid for and looks really nice. You couldn't do that with a free site and the way a site looks can draw in the recruits - but not keep them there. What keeps members there is a friendly and active community and a good structure, not flashy gizmos and gimicks. I checked out "The Sentinels", the guild of the guy who said that free-sites should be purged. Well, it looks shoddy and in comparison, our site looks a whole metre and a half better. Even so, appearances can decieve and: - Quote :

I agree. | |

| Well after slogging through that thread it seems that the same thing that happens to every SWTOR thread happened here. A guy made a fair point about about a touchy subject and it got some people's backs up. Someone made a good comment about a guilds name being the first handashake but it more or less resorted to "you said", "what I meant was" and "your guild sucks". Best stay away I say! |

| Agree with Nord on this; doesn't matter if the site is free or paid for so long as it conveys the correct impression for the guild.
'How it looks' is, like so many other things, a matter of aethetics, what one personal likes another may hate. At the end of the day, it needs to be easy to use, clear to navigate, and represent the guild it intended for.
Whilst I like the HoD web-site for example, they are most definately tied to what their creators are capable of - I pointed out an error on the front page ages ago, and its still not been changed, most likely because they themselves can't do so.
