Anyone heard of it?
I have been watching this game for quite a while now, and finally got into Beta a couple of days ago.
FA is a Post-Apocalyptic MMO, taking place on Earth. It's a raceless / classless FPS MMO (they have 6 factions but you can also be neutral). Being fed-up with fantasy MMOs I spent almost 2 hours on mmorpg.com searching for a catchy Sci-Fi mmo and FA came on top of my preferences list. Besides SWTOR of course!
Here's a recent interview / overview: http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2009/05/08/fallen-earth-interview/
What can I say without breaking NDA... gameplay is AWESOME! They still need to work on the FPS aspect, it's a bit twitchy. AND it's not at all restrictive, I got a horse (mount) at level 3 (level cap is 45 at the moment).

Yes, which I have bought off a player without having to farm for a week to be able to come up with the cash! I don't have the skill to 'craft' horses so I bough one, plus some food to keep him running.

Is it like Fallout 3?

Yes, the concept is almost exactly like Fallout 3 (setting, advancement, factions, gameplay). You can be a gun slinger or a meelee maniac. Lots of people complain it's a rip-off but they started working on the game long before 2006.
Crafting is an essential part of the game - 90% of the world's items are crafted/craftable.

Owl, if you're into FPS and Post-Apocalyptic genre... you'll love it too.
Now... I just hope I stay on the payroll so I can afford both SWTOR and FE when they'll come out

Ooooh yes... Mad Max... sweet memories... when I was a kid I 'crafted' a scrap suit out of garbage and throw-away items... you should have seen my dad's face when I walked in looking like a really imaginative homeless...

I can only imagine hahaha, poor dad!
I was likely even younger when i watched the first Max but i was really drawn to the post nuclear setting from that time on! Great memories indeed...

"We rather be EVE then Conan" - This quote is admirable actually... Nice philosophy there!

Hehe join the club, Aliendra. Can't wait 'till it hits the stores... Bewarned, stuff some 4Gb of RAM into your PC... it's kinda heavy on the resources. I can play with 2 gigs but it's a bit... staccato..

I thought Vista only made use of 3GB of RAM irrespective of how much you've actually got? I've got 4 (2x2) but windows only recognises 3.

I'll have to upgrade my PC for TOR anyway so I might look to get it quite high spec if I can, does anyone know if its cheaper to do it like this than to just buy a new system?

Its not the problem of vista or Xp its a problem of the type of system you are using. 32 bit systems both vista and XP recognise only below 4 gb doesn't matter how much you have.
Try finding yourself a 64 bit OS... and it'll work like a charm ^^

Vista? What kind of blasphemer do you think I am
I have a custom 'light' version of XP, 400Mb after install, about 13 processes on first startup, 40Mb of RAM used on first startup;optimized for gaming.
