I know one or two people may immediately put Darth Vader if I limited it to just Star Wars, so to spin things on its head.....
Who's your personal Favourite Vallain OUTSIDE of Star Wars?
For me, it would have to be Peter Stormare's stunning personification of Lucifer in Constantine:

Crikey thats tough cause there are so many! For Villians I'd have to say the Aliens from teh movie of the same name. As for fave iconic Villians I might have to go with 2 old classics:
"Pinhead"
Jason Vorhees
Can you tell I like horror?

Never been a big fan of Jason myself, but Pinhead? There's a scary mofo with some real talent! Its odd how our favourite pin-cushion bdsm latex-bound nutjob has evolved; in the original story "The Hellbound Heart", not only was Pinhead not the leader of the Cenobites (they had no leader) but he was described as being a hermaphrodite!

Yup, tis true. His name wasn't even Pinhead either it was just "Lead Cenobite". The fans just named him that and it stuck. I do love Jason though, purely for his no BS approach on murder, plus the death scenes in the Friday the 13th. movies are still to this day the most imaginitive to date.

My current favourite classic villain is a toss up between "The Joker" in Batman The Dark Knight played by Heath Ledger and "Keyser Soze" in The Usual Suspects played by *mumble*.
Keyser Soze because... Well, c'mon. And The Joker because I thought Ledger's acclaim for the role was massively exaggerated due to his being dead. Then I actually saw the movie and ate humble pie. An exceptional performance worthy of a great character.
I'll also throw in a curve ball and mention "Mister" from The Color Purple played by Danny Glover. Not a villain in the classic sense but definitely in the literal.
And have you heard Peter Stormare sing..?
(It's a great film and the lyrics to this song are really sad as the heroin's going blind. And a propper version with Peter Stormare's part being sang by Radiohead's Thom York can be heard here for those at all interested. Anyone..? No..? )

I haven't seen any horror movies I don't think, I don't like that type. Instead, I go for comedy, so no villians there. I suppose the most memorable one is Cruella de Vil from that Disney 101 Dalmations. Though it's a cartoon, she's the perfect villian. Decietful, cunning and scrawny but bolstered by a huge fur coat.

Aaaah, Battle Royale! *bows down before the king*
excellent film
Kazuo is the Shizze!
An island full of kids who are desperately trying to survive by offing each other, forced into it by an oppressive controlling government.
Or, in Kazuo's case, "its a good laugh" hehe
