The Hobby Shed

I know there's a bunch o' threads and posts and introductions which mention people's hobbies and interests but how about we have a dedicated place to discuss our various past-times? (Preferably keeping posts regarding gaming, movies/TV and music to their established threads.)

Braving judgement and scorn I'll kick off with liking;

Digital art (photoshop & painter) - some of you may have guessed that one already.
Painting minifigs (mainly fantasy)
Reading David Eddings, Robyn Hobb, Peter F Hamilton (Night's Dawn trilogy ftw!) and many more.
Gardening and growing my own (I've just dipped my toe in the water and have carrots, caulis and onions sprouting - it's soooo exciting!!)
Pagan/Spiritual interests
And once upon a time, 3D modelling (Max, Maya, SoftImage) but so very rusty now.

Anyone share any of those interests?

I used to paint miniatures years ago when I was playing Games Workshop battletop games. That got seriously pricey though!

Apart from that I've given up most of my old hobbies. I used to do mixes for old job, but I've even stopped that now. Does keeping reptiles count as a hobby?

I used to have loads of hobbies - primarily because I find myself getting bored very easily and often start 5001 projects and finish 2. If I'm lucky.

Of those that I still (sometimes) do:

* I'm an avid gamer: I love to be entertained. Hedonistic perhaps, but honest. I love all kinds of games from Computer Games to Board Games to Pen'n'paper roleplaying games.

* Writing: I like to design and write my own role-playing games, be in campaign worlds or whole systems. I also like to do what I furtively call 'creative writing' though this is really just when I get a story stuck in my brain and need to write it down. I'm writing a Fantasy novel too but its slow going.

* Drawing: I used to do this lots, but not so much anymore. I'm pretty out of practice, but I still derive pleasure from it so I still keep doing it.

I also love riding motorbikes, chatting about motorbikes, drooling over motorbikes and going to shows / meets to get jealous of other people's motorbikes.

I love alternative religion and mythology and like Red ('Pagan/Spiritual interests') I'm an 'armchair-pagan' in that I love and follow many pre-chrisitan religions - especially though of celtic and nordic origin - though rarely practice or partake in festivals any more.

Well... I'm a pen and paper gamer, i like board games to and sometimes still play them with my friends over a bear and a bunch of weed sometimes.

I used to write short stories, mostly fantasy ones. Sometimes even erotica But i lack inspiration for that lately. And i wasn't really that good at it anyway.

I like to discuss politics, social issues and most of all science. Physics was what interested me from when i was little and now its a full blown obsession to understand the world more. With that said i real allot. Some fantasy, sci-fi and when i can find something interesting- popular science books.

I can't play music or draw. I have a flaw and although i tried to learn i just don't have the talent.

I have little time to do this all nowadays though. My job takes up allot of time.
