Ok, if you can admit to Lost I can confess my third choice (deep cringing breath). 1) Battlestar Galactica (the new one) 2) Firefly 3) (Can't beleive I'm owning up to this...) Buffy The Vampire Slayer Woooo-hooo!! That was more liberating than the time I streaked at the local OAPs bowls tournament! |

Woooo-hooo!! That was more liberating than the time I streaked at the local OAPs bowls tournament! I don't mind Buffy either & it's definitely in my top ten. Normally the worst ones are made over here in the UK. Doctor Who & Torchwood just make me wanna hurl! I still want to see the new Battlestar Galactica actually. I can't seem to find a decent torrent of it anywhere though.

Oh I like Doctor Who on the whole ("Blink" was really good!). But I really couldn't stomach Torchwood. And yes it's at the top of my list but Galactica is genius. Unlike most sci-fi which avoids religion it's a main theme here and really interesting. Brilliantly acted, Mary McDonnel(!!) is freakin' awesome and I love the dogfights between the Cylon raiders and the vipers. Proper star wars-esque inertia rather than star trek's submarine paced "action". It gets two big thumbs up from me!! |

| 1) Firefly
2) Babylon5
3) Star Trek (but only Deep Space 9; the others were too clinical)
Strangely, none of those are my actual favourite TV series. In fact my favourite is not SCI-FI at all.

Hoorah!! Another anime fan! Be-Bop is brilliant (Ed is off the planet!). Have you seen Serial Experiments Lain? That's pretty good. And Haibane Renmi is luuuuvely. |

| @ Red - well, that'd be This. Superb writing, awesome acting. Exceptional storylines bringing horror and comedy together in a sort of coupling that hasn't been seen since the Evil Dead. If I could only ever watch any one series for the rest of my life; it'd be this. I get something new out of it everytime I watch it, and its the only series that I've locked myself in a room and watched 3 whole series back to back in a 46-hour marathon. /is in awe. ps: They're not afraid to kill of major chars too | |

| 1. Star Trek (I practically grew up on watching Voyager)
2. Firefly (this could go up or down because I was just introduced to it recently and I need to see if its just an obsession phase.)
3. Stargate | |

| @ Aliendra: Just to let you know, the first series is a bit like the old X-Files episodes (where it had a "monster of the week" self-contained story) with only slight nods to the overall story-arc. In much the same way as X-Files did with their Alien / Govenment Conspiracy story-arc that went into full swing and only occassionally did one-off "monster of the week" episodes after that, Supernatural does the same thing with Demons. (not 'big red-skinned dudes stomping around ripping people to shreds-demons, but really NASTY manipulative possession swines who put a capital E in evil behaviour). Also watch for the incredible 'brother' chemistry between the two main actors, the Winchester Brothers. They might have each others' backs, but they argue, squabble and nearly get each other killed on numerous occasions - not to mention one-up each other constantly. | |

I remember that. "Tank job" always made me giggle but I really enjoyed it. I recon that Space A&B is to be thanked for inspiring Starship Troopers which came out a couple of years later I believe. |

| Whilst I whole-heartedly agree that Space A&B definately inspired the film Starship Troopers (& the animated 'Roughnecks' series) - I think Robert Heinlein may have beaten them to the punch by writing the book Starship Troopers is an adeptation of way back in '59.
I really should read that :S

I just got around to watching the first series... And i know it! Just didn't remember. My friend showed me the first season a few months ago. Wasn't that impressed it seems as i didn't remember much of it ( My memory sucks). Still i'm gonna give it some attention and see where it goes ^^ |

Patrick Stewart the only reason it top five *gasp!* You mentioned the unmentionable word... *whisper* "Trek"... Only kidding! I don't know why so many die-hard Star Wars fans hate Star Trek so much. I watch them both too. I prefer DS9 though (not counting the final series which I felt was mostly padding). Though I agree Patrick Stewart is a legend! |
