| Right so its been decided to redesign the site, not that we dont love SS's design but we though a bit of a rejig would bring all the new elements we have together and be able to integrate the new front page. So it'll be best if people start with posting some examples of what they want the site to look like or just post some images that you like

| I'm gonna sound evil now.... what about the thought of moving to a more powerful site-hoster? like GuildLaunch or GuildPortal?
Just an idea... | |

| Didn't RoMs have a ton more features for gaming ie item collection and stuff? that might be useful | |

| That will need us to export all our stuff over there. Not sure it will be done within the next 2 weeks if we run for that best website contest...
EDIT: Added to that I'll won't be able to help with the website design. I'm used to forummotion but that's as far as I can go...

Just an idea... Personally I prefer Forumotion for better customization and I can't stand Guildportal & GuildLaunch, but thats just my personal opinion. I also don't want to lose all the great threads we have here. Guildpoart and Guildlaunch are also considered by many to be the cheapest looking of the bunch. I'd even prefer a webs site to them.

| Fair do's. I personally prefer GuildLaunch and Guildportal as I like the way it directly links into your games which I think makes it more professional. That being said I joined EPOCH for the Guild, not its website (Not that I have anything against here ofc, I love what we've done with the place) I guess we have to differ on some things! My main reason for mentioning it though is that those sites are dedicated to guilds and therefore have way more options. Forumotion, despite being very customizable is still just a Forum provider. EDIT: Example or Example2 | |

| I have to say I really don't like the look of Guildlaunch as they all look the same, I like that picture that PJK posted above but would we not want it in green to match the front page? | |

| I think at the end of the day they all server the same purpose and I have to say I really like the ability to add widgets on the side of these forums. With Guildlaunch/Portal we can't have our own customized domain name either can we? | |

| I had another point in the favor of forummotion. Guildlaunch are blocked by work's firewall so I couldn't access it as often as I do >_< | |

| Hahahahaha Evil Work Firewall
Incidently I'm not suggesting a move NOW, if we did there is no point before TOR launches anyway.

| The sooner tyhe move is made the better! The more we wait, the more we'll have to move! It will already be a huge work now but if we wait it will only get huger... | |

| I did bring this up in the meeting yesterday about making a new website for the game launch which would give us a year or more to do it in, but I'm not sure about moving to a different site-host. | |

| There's actually quite a good guide on building a new website here. My only problem would be the amount of coding and of course the coding itself. | |

| Ahahaha! Here is the how to do... You go in admin/ modules/ HTML pages managementclick create a new HTML pageTitle * : Input a title Do you wish to use your forum header and footer ? Yes No Choose No Use this page as homepage ? No Yes Choose Yes Copy/paste this code in the code area... - Code:
-
<center><body bgcolor="#00000"> <embed src="http://www.hostanypic.com/out.php/i3433_finalfp.swf" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="1000" height="550"></embed><br><a href="http://www.agentsoftheepoch.org/forum.htm">Access the forum...</a> <a href="http://www.forumotion.com"><img src="http://www.illiweb.com/fa/banner/en/banner4.jpg" alt="Free forum" title="forumotion.com" /></a></center> And that should do it... IF you happen to have any trouble with the adress toward the website, copy/paste the adress you'll find in the shortcut on the top left of the admin page.

| Thanks Soude, not to sound unappreciative but I knew how to do that I've done it before infact late at night when the moon was full woouuuoo, problem was I stupidly had the link to the "Forums" as the link to the hompage, which of course on a normal day is the forum, thing is as I'd just set the homepage to the be the EPOCH flash like an idiot I was clicking the forum button and wondering why I wasnt going to the forum Anyway Soude thanks for doing that, can you hold off on implementing it though plz mate untill I fix the link in the flash? | |

| We're not, Nosyd - we're talking about re-vamping / updating this one. My suggestion to move to a new site (even if we do) is a looooooooong way in the future. All this coding chat that's going on is about PJK's rather spiffing front page design. | |
