| Just thought I'd ask you guys as I know you're all no strangers to the net....
I was looking at turning my hand to a little musical composition (nothing professional, just for a laugh) and was wondering if anyone could recommend and software for composing your own music please?
To give you an idea of how out of touch I am with this scene, the last time I wrote music on a computer it was on an Atari ST!

| A lot of my mates started with Fruity Loops but if you want more advanced stuff then you could try Cubase. I used to be in an Industrial band a few moons ago and although I never really used Cubase it seemed like a pretty good studio package to use. For add ons I'd recommend Native Instruments as they have a great range of products.
The best suggestion though would be to join some forums and do a lot of research into it as it's not the easiest thing to get into.

| Never ever succeed to make anything decent in that regard. I can't even remember the soft I used thought it was a very powerful and professionnal one. Music creation is definitely not within my abilities. | |

| Cheers guys ^^ To be honest its mostly likely something outside of my abilities too but I wanted to give it a go anyways. "Do or do not do, there is no try" - I'm gonna punch that little green freakazoid I contacted a mate I know that does music on his pc, mainly alt/experimental stuff and he uses Cubase SE so it sounds like great minds think alike there | |
