| As a fairly young(ish) societal group who share a fair few common interests I thought it'd be interesting to run a quick poll to see if anyone has been bothered to vote today.
I'm not looking to start a political debate or anything so I'm not asking who you vote for or why (feel free to discuss if you like though).
Apologies to our international site members but please can we have only UK residents 'voting' (lol) in this poll. Cheers! |

| Voted no.
The reason being is I have absolutely no faith whatsoever in our political system.
Whichever group gets in will be as bad as the last and they're all in each other's pockets anyway.
The only 2 options I would ever vote for would to resurrect Screaming Lord Sutch or, failing that the total and utter dissolution of our entire political system and a new order installed.
Guy Fawkes had the right idea if you ask me, Anarchy in the UK ftw!

| Though I'm nothing but a snail-eater, I'm agreeing with LW on his vision of the current politic order. What I'm not agreeing with is not going to vote. I've been voting anytime I've had to yet I did put a blank bulletin. That's my way of saying "Yes, I care about what's going on. No, none of you is of any interest to me." | |

| Well said Soude. I spoiled ballot is the only way of registering your dissatisfaction with either the parties or the system. If you don't, then you're as good as saying 'I'm happy with whatever outcome'. |

| I don't know how the results are handled in UK but spoiled ballots are NEVER mentionned in France. You may not give a damn about them but nor do they.
My analysis of situation (in France) is that less and less people believe in the actual system. Problem is nobody (including our lovely politicians) have a solution to change that situation therefore comes the huge ammount of people not going to vote. This is working in circle less people trusting the system then less people voting then less people trusting and so on and so on...
Of course that is just my poor analysis and a personnal opinion not THE intergalactic truth.

| Yes, I think the UK is a little unusual in that spoiled ballots are counted: - Wikipedia wrote:
- The validity of the election may be questioned if there is an unusually high proportion of spoilt votes. However, in countries such as the UK where spoilt ballots are counted, some voters will deliberately spoil their ballot paper to show disapproval of the candidates available whilst still taking part in the electoral process.

| Until there is a "vote of no confidence" I will never, ever, ever, EVER vote regardless of whether it effects their quite obviously rigged so-called counts or not.
If there is no vote for "get them all out" then I would hypocritical in casting a vote.
I'm afraid I can't agree with the "no vote is I'm happy with whatever outcome" way of looking at it, though I no many people who would agree with that statement. Its a moral choice as far as I'm concerned.

| Fair enough Mr Dubz , I'm not trying to surpress any opinions. It's every citizen's right to choose not to vote for whatever reason. Which is actually why my poll is a 'did you/didn't you?' choice; I know many people who for various reasons don't vote. I'm just curious as to whether our little gaming micro-society does (or doesn't). |

You are indeed very right. Elections are a personnal choice you're the onlyb one to have any right about you should or shouldn't do. But I'm like Mr Harewood here very curious in the actions and reasons of those actions. I'm trying to understand what makes people think in another way than mines. I'm not here to judge or condemn anything... (Except for frog eating that I can condemn...)

| From the overwhelming response to this, I'm going to go out on a limb and say UK gamers typically aren't interested in politics. lol A hung parlement with the Conservatives in talks with the Lib Dems is what we've ended up with and it looks like Labour is on the way out. Good to see the election of the first Green MP though . Did any one watch Channel 4's Alternative Election Night show thingy btw? It was really good They should have David Mitchell hosting everything like that on TV I recon^^ |

| Yeah, poor Mr Brown. I do feel sorry for him; I hope he's glad to be shot of the thankless job. It's not his fault he's got all the charisma of a cheese sandwitch. |

Alternative election was pretty sweet I like charlie Broker personally I voted for the Conservatives. I missed the Alternative election, forgot all about it. I thought the speech Brown gave on his way out was pretty good and dignified, but his wife looked really pissed off.

| It's the best thing that could happen in my opinion. Great for the Lib Dems, and most important, great for the British people. I think it's a positive thing to come out of the election. At first I was worried what was going to happen after the election. Now I feel quite positive the coalition is a good thing and could be really good for the people. We'll just have to wait and see. | |
