Monthly Guild Meeting?

Morning Fellow agents,

After seeing that the sunday guild chat is drying up a little maybe it would be a good idea to hold a monthly guild meeting, where everyone even Initiates can discuss all guild related issuse they might have or events they have been thinking about, Now I'm not sure we want to use the chat on the homepage for this so maybe we use the steam acount chat?

I tend to see the Sunday nights chat as an informative lark-about that sometimes actually involves some guild chat. It'd be good to have something more directly associated with the guild, its direction and evolution.

Where to do it though? The Chat? keep it in forum-format? use an external chat (like msn messenger etc)?

Although I love the fact we have a chat it would break very quickly under the pressure me thinks, I'd use either the steam one or Msn, good idea though Tando

Hmm... I found that the Sunday Guild Chat was really just an off-topic gathering point (that and a place for PJK's adult jokes). Having something with such a long interval and a dedicated topic selection (which can be chosen by the officers) is bound to be better. The trouble will be making sure people remember. Assuming that's covered, you have my vote!

We'd have to decide on a date and time for the meeting also what chat system to use.

Can we lock our chat room only for Initiates and Agents during our chat session? Otherwise, we'll have to have MSN... I'd also put down the last day of each month to carry this out for simplicity's sake.

Unfortunately its only open for everyone to come in and join, but as PJK said the chat freezes pretty quickly. I'd personally go with Nord's Steam chat as its completely E.P.O.C.H exclusive.As long as people leave messages explaining who they are on there then we can add you all to the list, assuming you have Steam in the first place?

I do like Tando's idea though and a monthly chat gets my vote. Weekends are starting to prove to be a pain for me though as I'm helping run another club night so I'm wondering if a week night would be possible at all?

Don't think our chat could handle it, I'd say it's out of MSM or Steam .

Has the guild considered Skype? You can create 'conversations' that involve only certain people, it's kind of like a controlled chat room, with options for voice chat too (in the same vein as Ventrilo). http://www.skype.com/

Msm or Steam, there only one way to sort this out.... FIGHT as for the date we could pick some thing like the first Friday or last Friday of the month or any other weekday.

See Friday is still the weekend for me so that might be a problem but I'll see what I can do.

As for fighting, who needs that when we have polls!

MSN sounds good choice to me... Anyway, let's agree on a day and go for it.

Steam for me

I found Skype very similar to MSN and it does have the added advantage of bringing all the chat programs into one platform (you can have one person from MSN, another from Yahoo! and another from X-fire and they all speak in the same Skype chatbox).

I would actually go for steam overall BUT - not sure how many max people you can have in a Steam chat?

Speaking of which, people new and newish to the guild might want to check out Nord's EPOCH Steam Account Thread for joining-up purposes.

Now that Steam is available on both PC and Mac, nobody has an excuse not to have a free account!

From what I can see there isn't a limit. I'll have another check though.

all I've seen is a limit on the number of friends you can have which is 150

Well i think we should use the Steam one mainly due to Nord taking the time to set it up and I really cant be arsed to instal yet another program I'd barely use onto my pc ie xfire

Agreed. I very rarely use XFire and I've had it installed for over a year. As you say Steam gets my vote because Nord put a lot of effort into setting it up.

I only keep it becuase Artekus is on there.

Good idea! I voted for Steam - the chatbox can't handle PJK's jokes or LW's links to star wars cartoon porn, let alone a serious guild discussion.
