| I was wondering how many of you here have still got Age of Conan hidden away in a closet collecting dust? The reason I ask is because my mate is still playing it and apparently it's improved s***loads since I last played. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in heading on there again to check it out? I might give it another try on a RP server but I thought there no harm in asking here first. | |

| Yeah I had a feeling a few people may be against the idea, but I have heard there's been some huge improvements. Ah well, just thought I'd check. | |

| Mine is sitting on a shelf in my computer room taunting me...it was a good game, but it failed to keep me impressed after the starting zone, after that is when all down hill.
If the managed to make the whole of the wold as impresive as the start, then i might think about heading back over for a while.

| Nah Idoubt I'll ever touch that game again to be honest. I hardly have enough time to play LotRO nowadays let alone start AoC again. Sorry mate. | |

| No, I doubt I'll return. I loved the island but got instantly bored the minute I hit the mainland. Just not for me. | |

Aye I completely agree. It could've been so much more too. - 0wl wrote:

| Has anyone tried the free 14 day return thingy? I tried this game again last night, just couldn't get into it. Visuals still are nice though. Such a shame as it could have been such a great game. Funcom really made a mess of a great world. The Robert E. Howard books are a good read. | |

| Didn't realize there WAS a 14-day return thingie!
I bought AoC last year but could only play it on my bro's old XP machine because (at the time) it didn't support DX10 under Vistard. Because of that I let my trail period lapse and never renewed it (not much point when I couldn't play it!)
I'd heard they'd fixed the rather horrendous error of having a game shipped saying "Enhanced for DX10" on the back to having a game that actually ran DX10, but by that point I'd subbed to lotro and never looked back.
Bit of a shame, I quite liked what I did play, but don't regret sticking with lotro!

| I think the free return for 14 days runs out on the 22nd July, and I'm sure it will run in DX10 now. I get to go back to LOTRO when ever I want. I bought a lifetime sub with my special edition when the game first came out. | |

| It is a good game but still very flawed, its still the most realistic looking MMO ive ever played but not the most atmospheric or immersive. And the server I played on was completely dead I had to solo group quests all the time. - Nosyd wrote:

| Well, I know for sure:
Argothir (SureShot) Bellethriel (MaiMai) Farother (Nosyd)
do, I think many others in the kin do as well. Art, if you ever find out how to purchase a lifetime sub (links etc) could you post it here please? I've never found a way.
I think it'll be a little over the £100 mark.

I think it'll be a little over the £100 mark. I'll find the link for you, its at the payment options part of the website under the part of making a single payment. EDIT: https://cogaccounts.codemasters.com/manage-subscriptions.php Its 150 quid, so I might hold off until I get paid at the end of the month. |

| I played AoC from July to December 2008. I returned for a very short time in April, but due to connection issues (I was in Egypt at that time) and friends who'd left the guild and the game, I haven't played it since. Anyone played on the Hyrkania server? If so, do you recall the Serpents Ascendant guild? | |
