Aye I was thinking of trying a black "star "background with some of L-Dubz's 3D character images meshed together over the top, but I'll have to see how it looks first.

PJK, could we not make a bigger version of the banner for a backdrop?
If not why not have a star background with the logo in the middle?

Lol we definatly could infact such a thing exists already, as i have this thing about working it uber fine detail that portion of the background is cut out from a piece about 10-15 times bigger then it
Yeah we could do that too I'll give it a try now.

I just sent them a mail
Because I didn't persue it at the time I didnt get involved too deeply with it; but if they can do it for SWTOR-Roleplay...
RE: The Events module: Yeah I've seen that and its pretty damn awesome - great if people are not massively organised (*cough* ME *cough*) or have complex social calendars. EDIT: This feature is now live, I tested it
RE: Teamspeak: It seems you need to set up a server for TS, which my mate has done and I can find out how you do it but, I don't know if its been noted - the top end hosting for Enjinn comes with Mumble (another in-game chat) built into it with 25 places earmarked for us. Seeing as there aren't even 20 of us yet, we could just use that?

Yeah very likely Mr T!
Chances are Enjin will probably only be able to import this forum if it has already been exported/backed-up by us anyway.
Nice find ^^

I can probably get the FTP portion of it sorted, assuming that Enjin themselves don't provide it. As soon as I get a reply from them I'll let you folk know.
If we can't (gods forbid) we could just move across the "guild specific" stuff, like updates, short stories, RPs etc.
As far as I'm aware a Forumotion forum never actually closes (I think our lotro one is still there even though nobody has been there in over a year) so we could always just keep a link to this forum for all the "non-vital" / chatty stuff if we can't move it.

Hi, At the moment importing from other forum software is not possible but we're actually working on this ability now and should have importing enabled in the near future. Until something like that can be implemented, a workaround for that is: The link you use for "Forums" can be directed to an external link to your current Forum Boards. Or you can consider iframing the previous boards into a html module. http://www.enjin.com/forums/m/10826/viewthread/38369-tip-iframe-other-pages-to-sit-in-your-website
While they would have to log in again on the external forums, it is a way to continue to use it until importing can be done. Thank you,
Lilia

Hmm just tried a test with that and unfortunately our RP won't convert too well using iFrame. Bugger!
I think if we're going to do it any way we might have to look into what Tando posted. Otherwise it's goodbye old RP!
EDIT: Bad new I'm afraid. Just seen this on the forumotion help forums...

A quick website 101 for Paul and others.
FTP: FTP is a system where you can transfer files to a server through a transfer program like Filezilla, think of it like copying and pasteing a file from one folder on your harddrive to another, its the same process but instead of just being able to drag and drop you need to use a program like Filezilla. This allows you to access the database and upload download data
CPanel: this is a browser based admin panel which allows you to modify aspect of the website however these mainly include domain access redirecting and stuff like that it also gives you access to the database of the website server.
To move a website you need acess to either of these two systems to get your data, either directly through FTP or through the browser method, forumotion doesnt offer either of these because its a free website and allowing access like that to hundreds of users for free would be very expensive, so unless Ejin comes up with a way to do it without those methods we can transfer the data over, to the best of my knowledge.

Any idea where I can find any of this data PJK? To be honest I'm really uncomfortable with stuff like this, as I don't have a clue what I'm doing!

Yeah thats the problem mate, both need passwords to access and a location server, however for some reason I bet they use one big database that means if they gave us acces we could access anyone elses website data, either way i checked a few months ago and they said its a no go. These places have no obligation to help you leave there service so why provide one when you want people to stay, I'tll have to be manual Paul.

Love the black grid-like background too and the text is crystal clear in that high contrast. Reminds me of the old pc game Syndicate
