| Although you can discuss the news in other threads SS and Lw want most of it contained here so we dont lose threads in the chaos of all the new info, Lord Nord you can keep posting new info in the Event Discussion thread which is very appreciated but keep most of the discussion here plz New Info: New Species Confirmed!by Tando a Smudge Gamespot link New species have been confirmed prior to E3, which are Twe'lik and Chiss bring the species number to 4. Images Species Confired Human Chiss Twe'lik Rattataki Media: - Spoiler:
Player ships ConfirmedBy LW - Quote :
- Every player, regardless of their chosen class, will get their own starship to command across the galaxy. Always dreamed of flying a Corellian vessel? Choose the Vanguard class when playing. Or maybe you've had some sort of sick dream where you gangster walk through the galaxy aboard an Imperial transport (if so, choose the Sith Fury class).
Of course, it would be pretty boring to have an entire galaxy packed with a handful of similar ships. To combat this, BioWare has created a robust customization package so that you can fully trick out your ship with premade gear sets or your own hand-picked items. Though BioWare isn't showing off the ships in action just yet, they assure us that there will be thousands of different variations so that each person can feel as if they have a unique vessel. Ships will also double as player housing. Media: - Spoiler:

| Chiss?? Wow thats a bit of a surprise. Twi'lek was always given I guess but yeah thats surprised me I have to say. On the plus side I guess it gives hope for more expanded universe species to be playable. | |

| You can see that they're all the humanoid races though... Doesn't instill much hope in getting Trandoshans or any other exotic race. | |

| The fact Twi'lek is in suggests it might be worth keeping you're chin up, Harl After all, if the tail-heads are in then thats the " Will there be races who's heads don't fit in conventional helms?" question answered, plus Trandoshan are still one of the more humanoid races anyway, modelling them wouldn't be much of a headache (and we know they've already done so, because of what we've seen). Add to that we still think of Trandoshan as "companion characters" because thats the only reference to them we've seen confirmed, but up until today you could say the same for Twi'lek... Its a shame the "Behind the Scenes Video" was such an epic fail though; so far there is no decent quality copy of it anywhere outside of the US and frankly, there is VERY LITTLE footage of the new video anyway. It gives you an idea of what is coming though, and it looks like Troopers finally get to lay down some pain! (I put this as a spoiler because you may wish to wait until a better quality version is available) - Spoiler:

| One thing concerning me is possibly class specific species, As Vette is a Smuggler is seems appropriate smugglers could be Tweliks but will all classes get access to all species? (pointless worrying) BTW spoilers dont seem to be working anymore LW | |

| I know, harsh eh? Still the video (even with the incredibly low quality) does look promising, love the Troopers creeping through the trees, very commando | |

| Microsoft Presser is just about to start. Not really sure what they'll be presenting, but I'll report back if there's anything good. | |

| Ya just saw that Lord Nord, they announced a ship for every player since most view ships as a base of operations and from the looks of it, the ship will be customizable. Wish I could hit up E3 tomorrow just to visit that booth. | |

| Clever of them to integrate housing with player ships, it makes alot of sense from a design perspective as you can access your house on any planet and makes you ship more unique when its full of your own junk I think this might bode well for Guild buildings, if they treat each house like an instance were its not accesible on the game world to everyone but exists they might do the same thing for Guild buildings headquaters so you'd go to a Taxi hub and select you guild headquaters just like your ships dock and be transported to a prvate building I'm concerned they're not showing off any ships in action yet though.... | |

| Fancy reading a poorly written, confusing article packed with uninformed speculation? Here's your chance! - Quote :
- BioWare offered up a half-dozen classes to try out, but I was immediately attracted to the Twi'lek smuggler, because I am a letch. But also, because the success of The Old Republic largely depends on the strength of the non-combat specialist classes.
Err, non-combat specialist classes? What do Smugglers do, bake cookies? All the classes in TOR are combat-focused. - Quote :
- But the smuggler's value will be more strongly felt outside of combat.
What? - Quote :
- After all, The Old Republic doesn't take place on one planet, but in a galaxy ripe for exploration. While the E3 demo didn't let us go off-world, obviously a smuggler will have some advantages aboard a ship that a Sith Inquisitor will not.
Oh, so the smuggler has extra spacey skills to make up for their non-combat-culinary-based-specialisation? Interesting, apart from the fact that's pure speculation, nothing has been said about space combat and manual flight. | |
