As much as I love this film, It always reminds me of almost all of my weekends about 7 years ago......well, except maybe the lighter fluid; but then again...

For the sake of nostalgia (and the fact I've managed to get hold of the whole thing in AVI format), I'm re-watching the only series of Star Trek I ever really got on with:
Deep Space 9
I found it a lot deeper than most of the ST stuff with a better plot-line and much more interesting characters, including by far my fav:
Garak!
Also I can heartily recommend "A Stitch In Time", an excellent novel which shows just how awesome Garak actually is, filling in the gaps of the characters life before coming to DS9. It is written by the Actor who plays Garak in the series, Andrew Robinson who Wikipedia refer to as: "[Robinson] is known to specialize in playing devious and psychotic roles.." Pretty much hits the nail on the head, that.

Highly recommended viewing.

Although I've never actually seen it, I've only ever heard good things about Band of Brothers. I may have to check this out, cheers Nord

Yeah, it's really good. They filmed it on the back of Saving Private Ryan and used a lot of the sets and props and stuff. Definitely worth a watch (good taste there Nord!).

Saving Ryan's Privates was an entirely different film....

The i will also recommend The Pacific that i start in spring next year on HBO (US,) but in UK i think its Sky.
Same People that made this show and Band of Brothers.
My personnel guess is 1st April same date as the start of Battle of Okinawa or february 19th the start of Battle of Iwo Jima

Good Show, Art! Word of warning though, Episode 5 is a Comedy Episode so don't be put off by the name of one of the guest stars.
Before you (like me) go "Noooo! what have you done?!?" remember that its Supernatural and said guest star winds up very, VERY dead.

I'm currently addicted to In Treatment. I'm not normally a big fan of Drama serials but this one is actually really well done and Gabriel Byrne is bloody fantastic in it.

yeah I like that series too - they really capture the 1920's deco-meets gothic feel that Gotham is all about. In fact, thats probably my only gripe with the new Christopher Nolan films; Gotham could just be "any other city" - even with Batman Begins the only really interesting thing is the monorail that Ra's al Ghul tries to use to blow up Wayne Tower.

The reason behind that is he wanted to make it seem that the events of the movies could actually happen. Hence why Batman's gadgets in the movies are all based on existing technology.

Oh yeah, true. I've read plenty of Nolan interviews....it just seems a shame is all, Gotham wasn't 'Gothamy' enough for my liking, speaking from a personal perspective.

Some news about the new season of Dr. Who
IGN (UK) wrote:
Cheryl Cole in Doctor Who? Girls Aloud singer rumoured to enter Tardis. by Orlando Parfitt, IGN UK
UK, November 4, 2009 - Rumour has it that the BBC is chasing a rather high-profile guest star for the upcoming series of Doctor Who.
Said star is none other than 'Girls Aloud' singer and X-Factor Judge Cheryl Cole, according to British tabloid The Daily Mirror.
Says the paper; "No deal has been signed, but show executives think Cheryl, 26, could play a big part in their new series." They then quote an unnamed insider who claims; "If she can find the time, a part will be written for her."
The BBC has refused to confirm speculation.
Cheryl's got her knockers, but we're big fans at IGN.
We'd treat this gossip with a grain of salt to be honest, as the Brit tabs have been known to invent the odd tall tale occasionally, but you never know.
There will be three special episodes of Who this winter, before the new series kicks-off proper in Spring 2010.
