New DRP: "Hyperlane 101"

Right guys as Lw will be away nestling with the missus for the next few weeks so it seemed a bit pointless to postpone my RP any longer so I thought I'd open it up.

Gameplay Dynamics

This RP will be a dynamic one so expect some combat however it will be largely focussed as an openended RP with multiple outcomes, It will run for 3 sessions (give or take) set up into stages that will be good points for the story to end.

The initial stage will be an investagative one were Agents talk with prewritten NPC's and some on the fly if we go over, this stage will have very little combat but some interaction with NPCs via persuation and maybe some roughing up (If you played the Hunt for Bornas it will be very different no random searches you will be doing RP)

The second stage will probably require some combat and will more of a forcefull investigation of key players in the story but combat amount can be dictated by Agents

The third stage will be open ended and will allow you to decide how combat heavy if at all you want the final outcome to be.


I'm after a group of about 3-4 agents, ideally with a mix of skills and some familiarity with one another so that they can bounce ideas of each other and work like a productive team.

This is a bit of a different mission then we've had at EPOCH is definatly more of an espionage mission so it requires Agents who fit that bill (people who can blend in, can hold their temper are not Sith Jawa Razz ).
I'd prefer Imperial Agents and BH's, I'd allow a Sith but I want to keep the force out of this mission if possible


Story

The story is set and revolves around a space station in a uncontested area of space, its prosperous but is more of a tourist destination then an actual goods/strategic port allowing meaning its overlooked by the waring factions, its also run by the Mandolorians so it also has protection if either side tried to take it.

Its run as a cash cow for their endeavours, however each section of it is run by different Mandolorian factions, its seen somewhat of a holiday/training ground for Mandolorianss to go relax/take a break (i.e. take part in some nice gang warfare ) recently however the gangs seem to becoming increasingly aggressive, creating fire-fights and more importantly fires on the station causing deaths and major damage.
The station also has a civilian police force not run by the Mandolorians instead funded by the independent business' that have set up on the station and by residents who didn't like the Mandolorians heavy handed peace enforcement tactics.

The agents are hired to find the faction that started one particular fire in a nightclub which resulted in the death of a number of patrons and deal with them, your not hired by the Mandolorian's, this is someone on the fringes who has been involved with the disturbances and wants retribution.


Its slightly more in-depth then the brief actually suggests so dont let the vague brief put you off

Once I get a fair amount of interest I'll send the Agents an RP mission brief and you can discuss it before we start in RP or just head straight in!

Same here - I'm active player but not the quickest cat with the best time in case of D-RP system. Can you point me someone that could help me IF I'll get blocked on the mechanic part of the D-RP system?

I'd love to join, although... got a kinda huge list o' cons in my case lol. (Mainly in the familiarity with other members part... and the fact I have no idea what Dynamic RP is (I probably do, just never heard that term before)).

It basically means story specific events like information gather and combat require random dice rolls this make encounters and story progression more varied and interesting as you can't predict their outcome ie dynamic

The initial part would be combatless unless you go out of your way to start a fight
But I could come up with a slightly simplified version of LW's rules like Harl suggested to ease through hellion until we all become a bit more familiar.
Dy I'll try help you out before hand, could you give me the class you'll be playing plz as well just so i know if we have 3 IA's.
I think one more slot will be enough but I'm open to more.

This sounds like the sort of thing that Mr. Dekkar would be interested in taking part in.

The only thing that concerns me is that I haven't rolled up a character sheet for him and I'm not that familiar with the D-RP system, but I'll give it a go if you don't mind helping out a n00b.

Well we do have an RP assist to help you now but theres no rush first event will only be RP mostly maybe chasing someone if you want to be tough but you shouldn't need weapons or armours stats till the second stage.

5's more then I wanted so I'll have to say no more entries, right kay before we begin I'll need to know when your all availible and it'll take more then one session so I might do it weekly so that we have time to train players up in the DRP or at least give them a chance to ake a sheet.

So when can you all play!

i started back with school so my class times are 12:45-4:45 on mon 12:45-2:45 on tues 8-12 wed 8-12 and 12:45 - 4:45 on thur and then 12:45 - 4:45 on friday those are all eastern so just add 5hrs for GMT as long as its not running past 23 gmt then i should be good to play but it'll depend on my work load for any given day ;_; then my friday nights and weekends are free atm and will probably become less so as the quarter continues.


D-RP Chars:

I've actually used this system a few times for PnP games so if you have any questions regaurding tricks, tips, fundamentals, or game breaking manuevers/ advanced usage don't hesitate to ask - its very easy to get alot of of your char with just a few tricks ^^ so again even if you get it maybe talk to me anyway as always the final decisions on what is allowed always come down to the GM but since tempermants vary just cause A wont let you do something doesn't mean B wont.

Everyday from 20-21 GMT to 01:00 at least. If not I'll give a note earlier. Only problem Is I have small baby so from time to time have to run AFK.

I'm not a of too complicated mechanic in RPG as a whole so I may be slow with all this "dynamic" thing but try to keep up.

Work days from 19-23 GMT , on weekends can be all time online.

its all very simple please ask for clarification on anything you need help with or if you don't even know enough to ask a question then please try to get a chat with me at some point xP i'll bring you up to speed its all very simple so if you don't get something chances are you're putting waaaay too much thought into it
