- Sorry about not getting this up earlier. I started drafting this message this morning and just haven't been able to touch it much since then.
Thanks for everyone who gave their feedback on the original thread. After reading that and talking with the team here, we've come to decision and we will be sticking with the weekly updates. That said, we will be making some adjustments.
Currently, we have it where we release "themed" content in stages. For example, this month we released the article on Art Style in the first week; the second week we released Concept Art; next week we are going to release screenshots; and the last week we have something special for all of you. Each of those elements are connected to and support the initial article.
Starting February, we're going to bundle content into one update. If the update was going to be about Art Style, instead of releasing those individual (supportive) elements a little bit each week - we'll release them all on one day. So on a single Friday, you'd get the article, concept art, screenshots, and any other supportive elements we'd be releasing... all at once.
Does this mean in February we'll be doing one "bundled" update and three Fan Fridays? No, definitely not. We have a lot of new and exciting content that we'll be starting to release as well as new elements. I'd say more but it'd be giving it away.
In addition to this, I'll make sure to tell you what updates are coming at least a day or two prior to them going live. Sometimes it'll be more of a teaser so as not to ruin the surprise but in some cases, I'll just be very blunt and tell you what is coming (usually when its an update to an existing element). For example, tomorrow will be a Fan Friday.
Why are we keeping with the weekly updates? Because the flow of information will steadily be increasing now. And we believe it better to update you with manageable morsels instead of a flood of content (in a day).
At the end of February, let's all do a little "check in" and see what everyone thinks of the new method of updates. | |
