| Yep I'm without German-reading powers too.
Netwrorks can be a real pain in the rear and WLAN doubly-so. Even when I think I'm 100% sure I know what I'm doing it confuses the hell out of me and doesn't work to the rules its meant to.
Rather than confuse you with my "half-knowledge" of it, if Nord knows someone who's down with this kind of stuff I'd wait for his response to be honest.

| Just downloaded this, the microsoft documantation on how to do it, but I fail at this (it even is in english) : 3. Creating an Ad Hoc Wireless Network on the ICS Host Computer on the point 7. (In Network key, type the WEP key. The WEP key should be a random sequence of hexadecimal digits or numbers, letters, and punctuation.)
It does not wan to take any key!

Arr. You're not using a router? how is your computer connecting to the internet then? If you're using WLAN you need a Wireless router (or a router with Wireless Access enabled) for it to connect to.

| Aaaaah right so its mobile broadband you're using then. That's entirely different and, I'm afraid, you need to contact the supplier as they all have their own set of rules. What might work for one probably won't work for another | |

| Let the internet aside for a while. ...
I have laptop 1. and laptop 2. , both have a WLAN card (Wireless). I heared that it is possibile to connect the 1. and 2. with the WLAN directly, (like when you use the normal LAN and connect em witha cable) for file sharing and such.

| If you're just after networking the two laptops together, without the net (for the time being) go with a cable and use the ad-hoc option, far easier than WLAN. Although, saying that - a router is even easier - and faster. Oh, and more expensive I have no knowledge on setting up ad-hoc networks though mate, sorry. | |

It definetly is easyer with cable! xD PAP (Plug And Play, or the more common use Plug And Pray!) - Lunarwolf wrote:

I have no knowledge on setting up ad-hoc networks though mate, sorry. Might be but cable is so retro! Besides I move my laptop a lot trough the house, From one table to a other to learn and such, and at these times I still wan to have to be abel to connect to the other laptop.
