| September this year :0 - Quote :
- A year ago Electronic Arts announced that Star Wars: The Old Republic--BioWare's massively multiplayer online role-playing game take on the esteemed film series--would arrive during the spring 2011 window. However, according to one report, the publisher was a bit ambitious with that date.
The force of delay is strong with The Old Republic, it seems.
Game business site MCV is reporting that sources within BioWare have informed it that the long-awaited PC MMORPG will arrive at an undisclosed date in September. As of press time EA had not responded to GameSpot's request for comment or clarification on the purported delay. I guessed this was true a while ago by a) the lack of content on display b) Tando saying it wasn't as complete as rift c) that leaker guy At least we have a month though be honest spring means mid summer usually so its not that much more of a wait......*cough*

| Both positive and negative in my eyes.
I share what a lot of people are saying with "thats ok, we don't want another APB" but I'm also peeved because we've waited a really long time already.
Everything feels double-edged.
I think they revealed the game WAY too early leaving people far too long to wait, but at the same time if they hadn't; I wouldn't have met you guys - which would have obviously sucked.
While we should wait for a definitive report from BioWare on this I'm inclined to believe it for several reasons; from the lack of decent info to more subtle things like noticing how many timelines we have left.

| I wouldn't say it's not as complete, it's problem was that it was buggy and laggy. Some of the cut scenes could take a couple of minutes to load but apparently the server was in America. The one thing ToR has over Rift was the stories and the way the quests worked with it, it gave a real sence of purpose for the quests and the locations. | |

| Personally I rank meeting you guys as a negative, my bank account is worse off beacuse of buying this PC to game with you and the amount of money spent on games to play with you I see no positives For the game its good any extra time means more work done and if it did have problems like that leaker said then they have a chance to get fixed I agree the info release has been dreadful ramping up on the information only to then trow us off a cliff into nothingness is very jarring. However in honesty I have'nt been 'looking forward' to this game for a while with sooo little to go on its become like a dream I'll never attain and I'm happy just bumbing around on L$D and various MMO's for now. | |

Yeah its all kind of relative. I mean the story thing: Personally (though I've not actually seen TOR in-play that much) I think the story in Rift is great BUT they've kept to the "click on this person, quest text appears, click accept" option which as we know, most people don't bother to read. People often think I'm mental for reading every little bit of quest text but really, the devil is in the details. TOR's stories will be awesome because BW are behind them, but Rift's are great too imo (Hell, I'm a cloned hero from an alternate future in a FANTASY setting ) And likewise I don't know exactly how buggy TOR is, but Rift has its moments too - From the "I can't log in...can't log in .... ARG!!!" stuff, there have been simple bugs like some monsters respawning immediately after being killed to more serious things like Smudge's game crashing whenever he approached a certain mob-type. They're both in BETA, I'd just say Rift is further ahead by all accounts.

| Maybe it's the same informer that said SWTOR will be biggest MMO fail ever You know - trusted person inside BioWare (Carlos, the handyman) I'm just waiting for official release date - learned to not bother with things that are not in my control. I don't have time for other games anyway so I can do more stuff before SWTOR will suck me in and make me no-life again | |

| I've never been a believer of rumour and hearsay but if this is true then is it really THAT bad? I mean I was expecting a July release anyway, so a 2 month delay isn't a huge wait in my eyes. On the plus side I get a chance to throw myself into DC Universe for a bit. | |

| A September release date wouldn't bother me one bit, more time to sink our teeth into Rift and the smattering of other games coming out between now and then (DA2 comes to mind). | |

| It really doesn't concern me that much. This way, my examinations will be out of the way and I won't have to study for them constantly - so I won't fail and then be required to right George Lucas a strongly worded letter detailing how angry I am.
I'm actually a little happy about that, although, of course, it is a long wait. But there's no point in rushing it, like has been said - that would only be bad, bad, bad...
